Description

A so-called "Perimeter Action Vessel", the Peregrine Class was a large fast attack craft based upon the Dupleix class, albeit with an even larger emphasis on speed. Originally planned as a twelve ship class, budget cuts reduced this to just six ships.

Coming into service between major conflicts meant that these ships were really without a role, and they spend much time being rotated between various starbases before stumbling upon a new lease on life: Pirate hunting and smuggler chasing. As some of the fastest sprinting ships in the fleet the Peregrines were capable of running down all but the most overpowered ships of the Orion syndicate, and they did examplary service in keeping the Orion Syndicate's more belligerent captains in check.

Nevertheless there were expensive and finicky ships to maintain, and although serving well and being loved by their crews all six units were mothballed relatively early, without any major overhauls of updates.
