I'm going to go back to this later on when I'm not tired and put more details into the sand...it looks really blahhhh compared to the figures. And I want to shade more on the figures too. asdjiapisdj

I'm really really really happy with how this turned out.

It was originally just the sketch of Yukimitsu (used a picture of Sakura that was in the Shippuden movie pamphlet for pose reference), but I did the legs wrong and I was all fffffffffffffff.

So then I was like, OH, LETS JUST PUT SAND THERE. AND MAYBE GAARA.
So I drew Gaara on another page, scanned them both in, and this is the end result. 8D

Backstory:
Koyanagi Yukimitsu, Marubatsu Saya, and Kawaishi Katori, all members of Nekubi-han ("Team Assasination"---would just be Team Kawaishi in English version), are a part of a new training program for Konoha's young ANBU members. After a year of vigourous training in Konoha, teams are sent away to other villages (an exchange program of sorts) for a year in order to exchange techniques while maintaining stable relationships among villages.

Nekubi-han are sent to Sunagakure a few months after the new Kazekage, Gaara, took his place as leader. Because Suna and Konoha are close allies, the team is placed under the direct supervision of the Kazekage's immediate family and close advisors, with their training and housing situation.

The three train with respected 'mentors':
Marubatsu Saya --> Temari (they're both wind users) and other ANBU members
Kawaishi Katori --> Baki and the Sand ANBU Captain
Koyanagi Yukimitsu --> Kankurou and other Sand ANBU members

*Katori is already a Konoha ANBU member (where Saya and Yukimitsu are still in the 'reserve', or rather, they're still in training to become full-fledged members) so he gets to train under the Sand's ANBU Captain and Baki.

After Kankurou is sent away on a long mission, Gaara takes up training with Yukimitsu on his days off. <---I think this is where I'm going to have them develop a relationship of sorts.

ANYWAY SORRY ABOUT THAT LONG BACKSTORY. But anyway, that's what that picture captures. Gaara v. Yukimitsu training xD

I think she's gonna lose. XD

No, Gaara isn't going to use Sand Coffin/Burial/Emo on her. He's just using his sand as protection and to knock her off of her feet. You know. Normal training shiz.

And no she's not actually going to cut him either XD
