Description
NEXT: [link]Info: One of my more recent and creative designs, this is an ultralight recon vehicle known as the Asp, it combines the all terrain capabilities of a dune buggy with the raw power and speed of a drag bike. Its low profile and unique three wheel design are pretty unorthodox, but what's most unusual about this vehicle is how you control it. You don't sit in it like a car, or ride it like a bike; you wear it like a suit! Take a look at the rough cutaway sketch on the top left. Do you see the human pilot lying down inside? The rider's arms and legs straddle the vehicle SORT of like a motorcycle but it's much more integrated than that. The vehicle will actually react to the rider's every movement with a network of cybernetic sensors and actuators. A skilled Asp pilot can prop himself up or reposition the arms to take on bumpy roads, lean into turns or lie down to keep a low profile. If you haven't noticed by now the Asp is armed with a twin laser pulse turret, once again this is fully integrated and the pilot can aim it just by looking at his target. It's best suited to ambushes or hit and run strikes because its armor isn't very thick.

Trivia: This is only a concept design; I might make it bigger to allow for more room for an engine or batteries. Even so, the engine doesn't necessarily have to be in the vehicle's body. Future vehicles may have electric motors INSIDE the wheels! Isn't that something? So what fictional military faction do these revolutionary trikes belong to? Let's call them the Archivist Guild. It's about time I built my own private army.
Edit: It has recently come to my attention that a wearable motortrike like this is less science fiction than I thought. After designing this I stumbled onto a much smaller design in concept phase called the "Dues Ex Machina." This futuristic ultralight vehicle was dreamed up by a young inventor named Jake Loniak. While certainly less armored than my low slung Asp, Jake's design does have some features in common with mine such as integrated controls and the ability to change shape. His design is far more flexible however and can theoretically operate in a standing position as well. So far the Dues hasn't actually been built, but the technology to build it does exist. Of course! In the future EVERYONE has lasers!
Joking aside, I really like this design too, maybe I'll draw it again sometime. Thanks so much for the great comment!
