Description The Star Wars universe definitely needs more political cartoonists in it. I mean, the blockade of Naboo alone would provide months of material to be mined for scathing humour and comforting sanctimony. Plus we'd see some pretty great caricatures of Count Dooku, I bet.

I love how it gets harder to parse the more you think about it. Very accurate.

The Empire did nothing wrong.

I don't know why, but this political cartoon is far more accurate and smarter than most political cartoons that we have in the real world.

Lol! Well, thank you! There are some really, really terrible political cartoons out there, but the good ones are just so smart and concise, I love them. I wanted it to make fun of the bad ones while making one that was still actually sorta valid, in-universe. I imagine the citizens of the empire were getting pretty tired of constant Death Star taxes and I like to think this woulda showed up on some scrappy intergalactic editorial page in a paper destined to have it's offices shortly stormtrooped.

What I want to know was how that Stormtrooper got those taxes. I mean, they're about as threatening as a Goomba! Maybe the people pity them and just give them money so the Stormtrooper doesn't get sad?

Haha! They are exactly as threatening as a Goomba, as it turns out!

I mean, I'd feel terrible if I made those guys cry, I'd probably even but some chocolate bars to support their kids space-baseball league. Or Spaceball, if you will.

I don't know, using Jar Jar Binks to represent refugees might send the wrong message (assuming you want people to sympathize with refugees).

Seriously though, Gungans are actually pretty badass. It's a shame that the only one that got significant screen time was such a useless, unlikable clod.

LOlol! True, true... Mr. Binks didn't do the Gungans any favors in the public image department. And I looooove underwater aliens, so their city and all the deep-sea beasts gliding about the vicinity are really sorta right up my alley. I would watch a movie about a Gungan Marine Biologist in a second!

I'm more interested in the fact that they'e a Proud Warrior Race who appear to be technologically behind, but actually make use of organically manufactured tech. Also their shielding tech is so advanced, it's able to to sustain their underwater cities indefinitely and was practically impenetrable to the initial Separatist assault in the Battle for Naboo.

And also an evil mastermind bent on the domination of the entire galaxy, and a MASTER manipulator, and I don't care what anyone says, it's canon until they say it isn't!
