Exactly! Love-hate couples have so much angst and interesting dynamic, but I don't think they would have lasted much longer. xD

Will Vandom to me is alot more powerful than Phobo. The heart is stronger than anything she could possibly imagine. The only problem is she is young and doesn't know how to fully use the power itself. This may or may not of been the underline theme of the animated series version of W.I.T.C.H. when it comes to how Will uses the heart, but to me that is how it is

I agree with everything you said. I think it's fair to ask for permission from the owner of a heart and only with it to fully gain the heart's essence. Taking it by force might lead to receiving an incomplete, disfunctional energy and even failure (as seen in Jonathan Ludmoore's case from the comics- the heart did not accept him for his reasons were far too negative and dominant aiming for supreme control and thus so they did not match with the heart's essence).
Also in the comics (arc 4 "The Trial of The Oracle") when Phobos, desguised as Endarno, asked Will to give him the Heart of Kandrakar, she couldn't do it and confessed as if he was in fact asking her for her real heart, meaning that the heart became one with Will so only along her side it will have great powers. (I guess it is like a symbiosis)
