Description:
SPEAR-XE1 is an attempt to improve the original SPEAR-X assault rifle to make it more durable and also to simplify its production. As a result, the weapon features many simple and blocky shapes, which are quick to produce and can even be 3D-printed. Basic features of the original version, like the bull-pup configuration, the massive adjustable gas piston and the abundance of accessory rails, have been preserved. Unfortunately, the weapon was poorly received due to bad ergonomics and never saw widespread use.

Inspiration:
This weapon is mostly my own design, but some features were inspired by the M55 Rumbler from Killzone Shadow Fall (including the laser-dot sight featured instead of regular iron sights) as well as various bullpup conversion kits for real-life firearms, which sometimes feature a similar style of polymer furniture.

GIMP 2 + Inkscape (post-production, background, labels)
