Description Ten years ago, it began with a walk in the park.

It was all too dark for a young girl to be walking alone, but this was no ordinary girl. Ordinary girls had Mummies and Daddies; Brothers and Sisters. Ordinary girls had pigtails and french braids, went to school and had many friends. Ordinary girls had a life worth living; birthday parties, first loves, hugs and kisses. Not this little girl.

This little girl had quite the strand of misfortune. After losing her Mummy and Daddy to tragedy, the little girl was left to wander the streets in heartache. She had no pigtails or french braids, only ratty black hair and dirtied skin from the city streets. She got her food from trash bins, and, occasionally, would find a fresh meal that had been thrown out only moments before.

She had no other family... No Uncles or Aunts, Cousins or Grandparents. Most of the townsfolk found the little girl repulsive, and she never did quite fit in. She was left homeless and abandoned.

Until one starry night, the little girl made her way through the park late at night. She was down on her luck, yet again, her stomach growling ferociously. She hadn't found hardly any food and was still mighty hungry. Of course, the little girl naturally tried begging for fresh food, but was turned down time and time again. This wouldn't be the first night she would have gone hungry. In fact, she had done so many times before and it always made the little girl sad. She loved to eat.

As the little girl walked, she kept her head hung low, paying no mind to where she was walking. She had done this many times, knowing exactly where her feet would guide her. She lived on the other side of the pond, in a little hole in the ground, underneath the trunk of a tree. It had almost been a year now since she had lived there; though, it had seemed like an eternity.

All this little girl wanted was for things to turn around. She wanted someone to care about her and she wanted to look like a pretty little girl again. A pretty little girl with fishtails and french braids. She wanted to grow up and fall in love, go to school and read books. She missed her parents, but knew that no one else could replace the ones she had. If everything else go better, maybe, in time, she could live without them.

A low, monstrous growl startled the little girl out of her thoughts, snapping her tiny head upward. Her eyes widened and her mouth fell agape at the glowing, emerald eyes of the black beast before her, blocking her path. The large dog's ears were perched backward, it's brow creased and it's nostrils flared into a terrifying scowl. The dog barked hungrily, sinking lower to the ground, ready to pounce.

The little girl trembled, her heart pounded against her chest erratically. She had never been in this situation before. Out of the the unfortunate events to happen to her, this could have been the worst. The little girl hated dogs and had always been terrified of them. As her mind raced, she couldn't decide whether to run or accept her unfortunate death.

"Please," her small, fragile voice squeaked. "Please, somebody... Help me."

The beast snarled, leaping forward toward the girl. She shrieked out in horror, stumbling back and throwing her arm up to shield herself. The girl fell backward onto her bum, hearing the grass crinkle beneath her. She shut her eyes tight, feeling a shiver run down her spinal cord as she await impact and sharp teeth.

The dog yelped out in pain, and a warm liquid sprayed against the girl's flesh. The little girl grew confused, hesitantly opening her eyes and lowered her arm. Her expression fell as she saw the black dog mutilated before her, dead, on the ground. Next to it, a tall, slender man stood with a pleased smirk on his face. "Are you all right, young miss?" He asked.

The little girl's eyes wandered up the slender man's form slowly, taking in his black suite inch by inch. Her lips parted, expelling a small gasp as their eyes met. The man's eyes were scarlet; his hair black as night and his skin porcelain. The little girl had never seen anyone like him before, almost immediately attracted to his features. He was poise and proper, and the way he spoke sent another shiver up the girl's spine.

The girl looked back to the dog, becoming pleased at it's bloody form as it lay lifeless on the ground. Then the girl realized that this was the first fortunate thing that had ever happened to her, and looked back to the mysterious man. No body had helped her before, so what made this man so different.

The man's smirk faded and his brow raised slightly. "Well?"

Finally, the girl nodded, feeling a warmth growing in her cheeks. "Y-you helped me. Why?"

His smirk returned. "I heard you calling."

The girl bit back a gasp. "You did?"

The man nodded and knelt down to her level, his arm draped over his knee. He pulled a white cloth out of his pocket and began wiping her face gently. The little girl blushed, and then noticed the red tint tainting the whiteness of the cloth. Her eyes widened a fraction, realizing that the dogs blood had been what she felt earlier, splattering over her.

"Tell me," the man began, continuing to wipe the blood off the little girl's porcelain skin. "What's a tiny thing like you doing out here all alone?"

"I'm homeless, sir," the little girl replied. "I lost my parents a year ago and have no family to take me in. The townsfolk thing I'm a horror, and won't help me either. I'm unfortunate."

 "I see..."

The little girl averted her eyes bashfully, "I'd give anything to change what's happened to me."

 "Would you now?"

The little girl's eyes looked back to the strange man as he ceased wiping her face. Her brows furrowed as his expression seemed somewhat amused.

"I could help you, you know?" Said the man.

 "Y-you could?"

"Of course. I could give you anything you wanted. Except your family, mind you."

The little girl's eyes lit up and a smile spread across her face. "That would be splendid! I would be forever in your debt if you could really do that, good sir!"

The man smiled and rubbed her head. "I'll need something from you in return."

The little girl laughed, "I'll give you anything you want. You have my word."

His eyes narrowed and continued to smirk as he stood to his feet, "Excellent."

He held out his hand to her and the little girl took it. He held her hand in his and began walking away from the park, the little girl's old home, together. She found herself skipping, her heart filled with tremendous amounts of joy.

"Sir, may I ask your name?" The little girl inquired, gazing up at him.

He looked down at her, giving her a quaint nod. "Sebastian. Sebastian Michaelis."

After that night in the park, all the things the little girl ever wanted came true. She lived in a beautiful home and discovered her parent's inheritance. She learned how to french braid her hair and went to school like a normal little girl. She read books and had birthday parties. Every step of the way, her new friend Sebastian was with her. He looked over her, made her breakfast, lunch and dinner; he bathed her, brushed her hair, read her books and tucked her in. He made all of her dreams come true. No longer was the little girl unfortunate.

The years passed and the girl grew older. As she aged, the relationship between her and her caretaker, Sebastian, grew. Now, ten years later, the crush on the man that had saved her life a decade ago, had grown into a love affair. The now young woman was completely enamoured with Sebastian. She thought about him day and night; she could barely keep her cheeks from blushing when he was around. He had given her everything, and, now, he was even able to give her her first love.

Over the years, the young woman did find it strange that he had barely aged a day. Sebastian looked exactly the same as he did when she met him in that park a decade ago. The young woman didn't care to dwell on it too often; all she knew was that he was incredibly handsome and that age wouldn't have mattered to her anyway. She was an adult now, and she could fall in love with whoever she wanted.

She fell in love with Sebastian.

The sun was setting, and the young woman sat in front of the fireplace, reading her favorite novel. Her eyes flickered from the page to the handsome caretaker in the foyer as he walked through the front door. The young man grinned ear to ear, shutting her book and setting it down immediately. "Sebastian!" She cried, scurrying across the room to meet him.

"Good evening, miss." He greeted with a smile.

"Do you know what day it is?" She asked excitedly, clasping her hands together.

Sebastian narrowed his brows, tapping his index finger on his chin. He thought for a moment, and it made the young woman giggle. She had been waiting to ask him all afternoon and, by the look on his face, she could tell he wasn't going to be able to guess.

"No, I don't believe I do." Sebastian admitted.

"Today marks the ten year anniversary of when we first met."

"Oh," he smirked. "Of course it is. How should we celebrate?"

"Well," the young woman started, smiling, "I was thinking we could take a walk through the park. You know, I haven't been to that place since you found me all those years ago."

"Sounds like a marvelous idea. I'll pack a picnic dinner."

Sebastian leaned in and gave her a chaste kiss on the cheek. The young woman bit back a gasp, feeling her cheeks swell with warmth as he brushed passed her gently. Slowly, the young woman brought her hand up to her cheek, softly caressing the flesh his lips had touched.

The moments passed and the young woman was excited to take a walk in the park with Sebastian. They left the house together, and began their trek toward the park. Just like a decade ago, the young woman found herself skipping.

Frankly, she had had this planned out all morning. Her plan was to get Sebastian into the park and confess her feelings toward him. The thought itself almost made her blush and giggle uncontrollably. Somehow, she just knew that he would feel the same way. There wasn't a doubt in her mind. Of all the time they had spent together, she couldn't have been more sure.

The young woman had often fantasized about kissing him, and what it would be like to make love for the first time. She sighed inwardly, secretly glancing at him to see him smirking out of the corner of her eyes. She loved it when he smirked; it almost made her fall head over heels for him all over again.

Once they arrived at the park, the sun had completely set. There wasn't another person in sight for miles and the young woman thought that this was just how she imagined it. It was a surreal feeling down to the slight shiver down her spine.

The young woman continued walking until she reached the familiar area of the park; the place where the dog attacked her and the place she had first met Sebastian Michaelis. She whirled around to face him, a large smile intact. "Do you remember, Sebastian?"

"Like it was yesterday, young miss." He answered.

The young woman furrowed her brows, feeling like something was off about him. She looked him up and down quizzically, as if she was trying to find a missing puzzle piece of sorts. Suddenly, she gasped, "Sebastian! The picnic basket! Did you leave it at the house?"

Sebastian pursed his lips, looking down the length of his body. He grinned sheepishly, "Oh, dear. It would appear so. I'm sorry, miss. I'm afraid I got a little too excited."

The young woman blushed and stepped closer to him. "It doesn't matter. I just wanted to you come with me so I could tell you how grateful I am, Sebastian. This place... It could have been unfortunate, but you came along and changed all that. Thank you."

Sebastian smirked, taking a step toward her. "It was a pleasure."

"Um, Sebastian," the young woman started, feeling herself grow pink and her heart began to race. "There is... something I've been meaning to confess to you. Something I've been dying to tell you."

 "Oh? And what is that?"

The young woman stared at him, feeling her palms break out into a cold sweat. Her words were trapped in her throat and, for a moment, she wondered if she would be able to spit them out. "...I... I think I'm... in love with you." She murmured, finding it hard to keep eye contact with him.

Sebastian cocked a brow, leaning in closer to her. "What was that?"

Her cheeks burned, feeling his hot breath against her flesh. "I love you."

Sebastian's smirk grew, and his eyes darkened, "That's what I thought you said."

The young woman's eyes widened a fraction as Sebastian pulled away from her and began removing his white gloves. She stammered hopelessly, her heart sinking into her stomach. "D-do you not feel the same way?"

 "I'm afraid not, young miss."

"B-but why?" She gasped, feeling tears as they pricked at her eyes. "I... I thought..."

"Don't you remember? You're indebted to me and your time has come."

The young woman was taken aback, "What do you mean, Sebastian?"

Sebastian's handsome face grew darker- demonic as he grinned at her, his eyes seemingly glowing as he stared narrowly at her. "It's time you paid me back for all those things I gave you. You'll be paying me back with your soul."

"S-so, these last ten years.... They were all a lie?"

"You could say that, yes." Sebastian mewed. "Don't be scared, young miss. I'll be as gentle as I can."

A tear fell from her eye and she lowered her head, trying to keep herself from trembling as he approached her. The young woman felt Sebastian wrap his arm around her waist and she shut her eyes tightly. "Wait!" She cried.

Sebastian growled slightly, pulling away just enough to look into her face. The young woman opened her eyes, tears spilling out profusely. It hurt, looking at the man that no longer resembled the kind looking caretaker she had known for the last decade. The man- no, the demon she had fallen in love with.

"May I ask one last request?"

Sebastian pressed his lips into a hard line, his eyes searching her pale face. He gave a stoic nod.

"Kiss me... I want to be kissed before I die."

Sebastian grinned, raising his hand to rest behind her head. He leaned in slowly, murmuring huskily, "As you wish, young miss."

His lips met hers and her heart lurched into her throat. Sebastian held her against him, pressing his mouth harder against hers. He slid his tongue inside, contorting it around hers and exploring every inch of her mouth. The young woman whimpered against his caressing lips, clutching tightly onto his clothes. Sebastian pulled away from her, his lips still hovering centimeters from hers as his tongue slithered across her full bottom lip.

Ten years later, it ended with a walk in the park.
