Description
If I ever get to work at DC/knock some sense into DC, this is what I'd be doing. A team up title I call Neighborhood Watch. Basically, Billy Batson is adopted by the same family that adopted Mary earlier. At this point he moves into the same suburban Metropolis neighborhood as Stanley (from way old humor title, Stanley and his Monster). Kid Eternity also joins them and altogether, they form a kid superhero team.Seen in this group lineup, is as follows.
Captain Marvel: Team leader. His normal origin stays the same, with a focus on the fact that as Billy Batson, he was such a good kid that a wizard gives him superpowers. He's pretty much an incorruptible boy who flies around doing good deeds.
Mary Marvel: Billy Batson's twin sister who was adopted earlier. Also nigh incorruptible, super sweet, and every bit as good as Billy, she's brought to the wizard by Billy and gets superpowers too. Unlike Billy, she doesn't age when she transforms, so she stays about 13 or 14.
Captain Marvel Jr: Freddy Freeman, crippled member of the Newsboy Legion (seen at far right) is picked by the Newsboy Legion as their representative in the Neighborhood Watch team. As such, he's inducted into the Marvel family, and given powers to become Captain Marvel Jr. Also doesn't age when transformed.
Stanley's Monster: Big, friendly monster who emerged one night from Stanley's closet. There's a whole world full of monsters that lives under Metropolis (this is based on the Metropolis Underworld that popped up briefly in the 90's). Stanley's house happens to be built on a secret entrance to it, the only openings in the house being through his closet or under his bed.
Stanley: Imaginative, non powered kid, who possibly has ADHD. At 12, is the youngest member of the team. Is an only child, and sometimes acts it.
Marcia: Stanley's frequent babysitter. Not a member of the team, but a reoccurring supporting cast member. In the original comics, she was kind of a go-go dancer, in this she's been updated to hipster. Doesn't know about the monster or Stanley's association with the team, has a crush on Captain Marvel.
Kid Eternity: First off, screw the Vertigo interpretation. This is much closer to his original version, where he was a kid who was taken by the grim reaper before his appointed time. Because of the oversight, he was sent back to earth in the care of a spiritual being, and given the ability to summon any figure from history. Because he received his powers by accident, and not as a reward for good behavior, he's actually much more of a trouble maker than Billy, kind of the Calvin or Tom Sawyer of the group. He becomes Billy's best friend, but is somewhat of a bad influence on him. Has a secret crush on Mary, which he shows by bothering her as much as he can.
Mr. Talky Tawny and Hoppy the Marvel Bunny: Because Mary is the only girl on the team, she sometimes gets overlooked or left out when the team is off doing "boy stuff". With no other superhero girls around, she has grown to rely on her stuffed animal tiger and bunny, which (as an act of kindness) the wizard Shazam gave sentience to, and who come alive when needed by Mary. At some point in the comic, two superpowered girls end up moving into the neighborhood, and become Mary's new best friends. Tawny and Hoppy still come alive when necessary. Tawny is obviously now closer to Hobbes, and Hoppy is now designed after a stuffed rabbit I had when I was a kid (Benjamin Bunny, who I drew so, so many comics of me and him having adventures at the time).
The Newsboy Legion: A surprisingly wide network of newspaper delivery boys inspired by their first (honorary and in no way actually connected) member, Jimmy Olsen. They help out superheroes where ever they can, and are fiercely loyal to the Neighborhood Watch. When the Captain Marvel offers to bring one Newsboy into the team as a representative (who will also be give superpowers), crippled Freddy Freeman is chosen by the Legion.
And basically that's it. I have several issues mapped out in my head, the first couple being a story where the team forms to fight the Monster Society of Evil. Like I said, at some point Mary finds two new superhero girls who join, and while I have a decent understanding of their powers (and some name ideas), I don't yet have a design for them.

Holy crows, you and both need to have your own offices at DC. I would, read the shit out of this, as they say.
