I've been playing Majora's Mask. Although it's my first playthrough I already know most of the plot, including the fact that Mikau dies the moment you meet him. When I got to the beach, I was prepared for a tragic death scene.I was not prepared for him to leap to his feet, shred on his fishbone guitar while screaming, "YEAH BABY", and then faceplant in the sand.

Lol, this is so true! I guess Nintendo either wanted to insert a bit of comedy to lighten the already depressing mood, or they thought the best way for Mikau to go is by doing what he loves. I think anyone would love to their favorite things one last time before kicking the bucket, but still! I remember first thinking he was gonna be ok and watch with a reassuring smile.......then he faints and dies. My heart broke that day.
This is still hilarious though! I read this daily. Love live the guitarist!

I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo originally wrote a tragic death scene, and then went, "Huh ... this is kinda dark for little kids. OKAY, THROW IN A GUITAR SOLO."

I actually did read an article(can't remember where) where someone from Nintendo(can't remember who) said that Mikau's death was intended to be sad. And man, did they succeed.

Majora's Mask is a pretty sad game (at least, in comparison to other Zelda games), all silliness aside.

That wouldn't surprise me either. I do admit that I like the manga version better for this scene since its less... Spazzy and take itself seriously, you know? 
Your welcome! This picture deserves a daily read! Its hilarious! In fact, this Mikau actually behave pretty much the same way as the Mikau I RP as with my sibling. ^^ Even the laugh this one made is almost identical lol. He's one of my favorite characters by the way!

I haven't read the manga for Majora's Mask, since I wanted to complete the game first, but I'll admit I'm rather fond of the Ocarina of Time one.
I do love Mikau, as little as we see of him. Although I also have a huge soft spot for Japas, clueless stoner that he is.

The Majora's Mask manga is really nice. ^^ Unlike in the game, the artist handle Mikau's death in a more realistic and calming way, hence why I prefer it to the game's sillier version. Since its one volume, it'll be a little rush, but its still a great read just like the Ocarina of Time manga. ^^ I loved both mangas.
I'm a huge Mikau fan despite his small screen time. I don't know why, but as the years went by, I just grew to love and respect him more and more to the point he became my favorite character in any video game I played. I'm even doing a fanfiction series just for him to show my dedication to this underdeveloped/underrated character, which is why it takes me a few days to reply back. ^^ I wish we knew more about him and his life. And who wouldn't love Japas? He's the most magical Zora to ever grace a video game series. He's easily my favorite next to Mikau!
