Yeah, and Illinois does too. In the Fall, both states have a covered bridge tour thing that's real popular, with all the fall foliage. I've never been on it, but, hear it's really nice.

I was talking with my mom about them today, and from what she knows, she thinks most of the ones in Indiana, now, are gone or almost gone from neglect, as you were saying the ones in Missouri are. What a shame. She says there are many more in Illinois than there are in Indiana, now. (

Well, Indiana would still be much richer for having you, even if we didn't have one single bridge...covered or otherwise! But, I would definitely get online and check out the area that you were planning on traveling to, and get some updated information before heading out, so that you're not disappointed. I know the last trip I made to Illinois was probably almost 10 years ago, by now, and they were still having covered bridge tours in the fall way back then. It was such a big event then, that you had to book your hotel rooms way in advance or you didn't get one. I was in Illinois for a family reunion and couldn't believe the amount of people in all the restaurants and hotels, so, I asked what was going on...and that was my answer. Anyway, I'm sure you'll find a few of them, left, somewhere.

Beautiful shot, just as I remember it. I worked out of Lawrenceburg, for about four years ending in 2005 when I lost my medical card. I liked the people in the area. (for the most part) Do you live close?
