Season 11 : Ninja Storm 2003
Ninjor is not the only Ninja Master living on Earth. There are other schools, all competing against each other for centuries to decide which one is the most powerful. The two major schools are :
The Wind academy, teaching the control of 3 elements (air, earth and water)
The Thunder Academy, specialized in teaching how to harness the power of lightning.
Even though all schools are rivals, they also know when to be on the same side of the battlefield.

The founder of the Wind and Thunder academy was named Shurika. She was from the same planet as Ninjor and lived on Earth. Like the one who created the Power Coins for the original Earth Rangers, Shurika had the ability to transform her body and change her fighting style. Shortly before her death by the hands of Lord Zedd millenias ago. She sealed her ability in an artefact, keeping her descendant from transforming until they could find it again.

When the evil Space Ninja Lothor came to Earth, searching for vengeance, he first attacked the Wind Ninja Academy, kidnapping all the Sensei and students. Only Sensei Amino, his daughter Cameron and three absent student escaped the attack. Shane, Dustin and Tori were the only hope against Lothor, Cameron was not a fighter, and Sensei Amino was transformed into a Guinea Pig. The three students became the Ninja Storm Power Rangers.
Just after the attack against the Wind Ninja Academy, Lothor decided to wipe out the Thunder Ninja Academy, and he killed everyone except for two students. Blake and Hunter were already Thunder Storm Power Rangers at the time of the attack and where out of town. When they came back, they decided to do an undercover investigation on Lothor's Ship. Making him believe his lies worked on them. But they were really just trying to find weak points in his defence system. Eventually they showed their true nature and joined the Ninja Storm Rangers in their fight against Lothor.

When in dire need of more power, Cam convinced her father to let her travel into the past to retrieve the location of the Shuriken Ball. In the past, she learned Lothor was her father's twin brother. She also learned from her mother the truth behind he ancestry and she retrieved the Shuriken Ball in time to save her friends and the Earth. Being able to transform like the others, she grew more confident than before and a competition to win the heart or Tori started between her and Blake. The Shuriken Ball doesn't allow Cameron to transform into a Ranger. It permanently transformed Cam into a copy of Shurika, Cam's true form. Despite her ancestry, Cameron cannot fully control her powers and still need to the Shuriken Ball to confine her power (thus not endangering her or her friends) and maintain the illusion of humanity. With Time she will no longer need it.
(It should be noted that the only differences for Hunter in my universe is that Hunter is a she, the personality and the family ties towards Blake are the same.)

That's Hunter. I just decided to make that character a female. Tried to infuse more balance of the genders in my seasons.

interesting how you used some concepts form hurricanger in your reimagination...like the ranger form being shuriken ranger true form.
also i liked the colors for the thunders
(the interesting in your choice of colors is the fact that the first released images on the gouraigersshowed them in purple and oranger)

Well, yeah I wanted to keep something of Hurricanger when I wrote this season, I also wanted to keep a tie to the rest of the series, hence my reference to Ninjor.
As for the colours, during my brainstorm, two names of colours popped into my mind : Deep Purple (like the band) and Burnt Orange (like the sky of Gallifrey according to the Tenth Doctor). Since this season had blue and red two times each, I figured I could swap Crimson and Navy for other colours and have more diversity.

Female hunter, love it! Female cam, love it! I didn't even know cameron and hunter (unless hunter's just a nickname) could be used for woman names.

Thanks, and that is simple, it's because her ranger form is her true form. Her human form is a transformation to camouflage herself within the human population.
Seems like my story isn't clear enough on that point.
