Description
Just playing really - working with a combination of shadows, caustics and materials working in conjunction with the lighting.I was going to call this female dominance because its the queen that holds all the power but thought better of it
Hope you like it and as ever, abuse is always welcome

I like that glass effect.
Why donβt you try to make a whole chessboard
That would look cool

That really is jaw droppingly fantastic, for a render, that is really really nice. Love the colours used too, makes for a different perspective on the usual black and white of chess pieces.
Nice work.

wow great job, very realist modelling ! Nice colors, wouldnt have chosen others, red blue goes great with white . That material used to render the chess pieces(I believe they are called that?) is more than nice, they look like jello, i'd grab one and eat it right now heh The shadows are bit screwed up in my opinion, a bit too large and blurry, they make a not-so-nice contrast with the white and reflective "floor" .Also, dunno if it is me(i just woke up) but that white floor aint white at all, its more like grey, i believe white would go better... Anyway, good idea/concept and a sweet implementation, i'd like to have your 3d skills

You are not mistaken the floor is actually a very pale grey....white was simply too bright. I kinda agree about the shadows but its the first time I've been able to do blurry shadows so I *had* to go over the top with them

you know, try to create a reflection instead of the shadows, but a reflection with different colors than the chess pieces

it is good, and it eats less CPU than 3dsmax

Is that a render or a photo? I can't really tell.
Either way, the angle, lighting, reflection, pose, colors... EVERYTHING is great about this piece.
