Military Operations Study
As the Dark Grey (Grey) force, the goal is to dissolve the blue armies within 14 days, while maintaining the highest combat effectiveness for subsequent operations.
Situation
a fresh, early autumn campaign season with no rain
War had been declared between the Blue and Grey force a week ago.
Grey mobilization was much quicker, and thus was able to advance into Blue territory quickly, taking Town A without a fight.
there is no immediate reinforcements available from either side to this theatre
ConsiderationsBlue Side
Strategic Goal: Maintain control of Towns C - E, which are essential to manufacturing and recruitment for the greater war effort.
In home territory, can expect local population support.
Blue Citizens will volunteer to fill sandbags and help fortify the towns
Supply situation is optimal if the railway exit to the northeast and northwest are in blue hands, all units are coming in with full supply, and will continue to be supplied.
Out of supply units can fight at maximum efficiency for a single engagement before exponential decrease in warfighting efficiency
Grey Side
Strategic Goal: Dissolution of the Blue army, and further advancement into the Northeast.
Supply from the southwest is beyond the need of the Grey Army,
Artillery replacementns and munitions are considered "infinite"
Dragoon corps can fight as consolidated infantry Divisions
i.e. a single corps (4 brigades) collapses into a single infantry division
