The War In the Gulch. The Ichthys Crusade. Commander Herakles surveyed the battlefield, the broken bodies of countless Viperidaedens bloated out the hard and vast grounds of the Reclamation Point. His Nameans walked among the dead, retrieving any one that had fallen during the assault, as they did they let out the ritualistic oils from the censers. Back and forth they swayed with the movement of the soldiers, with each pass the bodies of the Rattlers became more and more drenched in the holy oil. The total casually had been numbered in the hundreds, each fallen Namean cost the Rattlers greatly, at a score of several hundreds to take down one Lion, it hardly seemed reasonable.

"Even though we walk through the valley of the shadow of Death" the Apostle orated, as the men lit the field on fire, the holy oil would burn, burn until only ashes were left. "The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want" they laid down their arms, give a prayer. For all the men, women, and children that had suffered at the hands of the Rattlers. Lord Herakles raised his head as the Apostle finished his oration. "Give thanks, to God, for he has sent us this great challenge! And ask of him not to lessen our burden, but to throw at us his most grievous of battles. We will banish the serpents, we will excorisie the demons, and we will put to the sword the brigands that have fouled the Gulch for so long! At break of dawn we march!" His voice thundered as he toward above his men. This was only the beginning of the Ichthys Crusade.

Speerhead's plan had succeeded, for in the mind of the sane it would seem as if he had failed to push in and breakthrough the Namean lines. This was never his intention, he wished to soak the field in blood and tempt the Lions and the Dust men to move on the offensive. Draw them out of their fortifications and deeper into the maw of the Gulch. He knew that his previous strategy of relentlessly and recklessly sending wave after wave of Viperidaedens would not work on the Numean Lion or Paul's left hand. They were both to cunning and more importantly capable, unlike the Argonauts or the men of the Beast that he had smashed not to long ago.

From the front he heard the murmurs, the Numean Lion had single handly broken the Hammerhead Champion of Clan Coleoptra, he had slayed the bizarre Harvestmen of the feral depths, and many more, until they arrived to one. They spoke of how the Lion had bested the great Swordhead Champion of Clan Mantidae. He took pause, a echo of a memory traveled through Speerhead's mind, he remembered that battle yet he could not say why, from his birth he would have been several decades to young to have partaken in that conflict. He would commune with the Queen Mother, when got a chance, she would surely know why he is having these memories.
