now.. this is a quite personal piece for me.. It started with a topic from Sketchoholic..'Ghosts' (Daniela Strijleva interview's contest).I was going to create something comedic before but all of sudden memories of my granma came back to me. She passed away quite a while ago but I still remember how devastated i was that time. I tried to pour all my emotion into this one.. which resulted in a really depressing weekend. It was really exhausting both mentally and physically when I did this drawing - the sad music that I listened was making it worse too.
I'm glad to be able to finish it - it's quite a relieve in the end. I miss both my granpa and granma.. I wish that they're both in peace and happy somewhere .. sniff..

the funny thing is that I didn't start crying until I saw the cat and the dog - I've had many pets myself and loosing your pet is just as sad as any other member of the family.

I can really relate to this piece. There's always that wishful thinking that the deceased will come to a happy afterlife.

This is a very bittersweet piece. I was happily sighing over the ghost, but then you know, once I realized the flip side, I couldn't help but feel a little awful. This hits me personally though, and makes me feel a little better about some of the things in my life, even with the sadness. Needless to say, I really like it.

That hurt seeing...but touch me mentally. My great aunt passed away not that long ago. It hurt the whole family. We will never forget them. For they are in our hearts.

Beautiful picture, it made me tear up, sadly, i only have 1 grandma left, my other grandparents have passed away, but im sure they're happy up there in heaven.

Very nice. My father was a clergyman, who always reminded those dealing with loss that grieving was for those left behind, because those that have moved on are in a better place. Your art captures that beautifully in a way that allows the concept to be accessible to all, regardless of religious beliefs.

This piece definitely evokes emotion. It's not often that I go onto dA and run into a picture that forces tears to well up in my eyes. It's wonderful... sad and somehow comforting at the same time. I adore it.
