Description
now.. this is a quite personal piece for me.. It started with a topic from Sketchoholic..'Ghosts' (Daniela Strijleva interview's contest).I was going to create something comedic before but all of sudden memories of my granma came back to me. She passed away quite a while ago but I still remember how devastated i was that time. I tried to pour all my emotion into this one.. which resulted in a really depressing weekend. It was really exhausting both mentally and physically when I did this drawing - the sad music that I listened was making it worse too.
I'm glad to be able to finish it - it's quite a relieve in the end. I miss both my granpa and granma.. I wish that they're both in peace and happy somewhere .. sniff..

This is a lovely drawing and captures the reality that *we* will miss them (our deceased family and friends), as long as we live, but *they* have moved from the "Introduction" and into the REAL BOOK!

It's quite moving! Your strain and hard work on this project really made this a bitter sweet success. Good, good job! I just lost my grandma last year. I miss her much! Thank you for such an emotionally stirring piece...sometimes it's healthy to cry again oddly while I look at this piece, Josh Groban's song, "To Where You Are" started playing on pandora. Huh.

I hope it brings some solace that your work has touched so many people's hearts, including mine. The emotion and technique are both gripping, and I'm sure everyone can see as well as I can how much of you went into this.
Fantastic work.

Beautiful, from the dark emotional pain of bereavement, probably the most intense we will ever feel,to the pure joy on the faces of the loved ones on the other side,it gave me a strange, warm, peaceful feeling inside,I've been sitting staring at this for half an hour now and I've still got that feeling.
I had never believed in an after life but this picture has made me think again.
Outstanding. Thank you
Peace and much happiness to you.

I love the little kitty and puppy ghosts. It's comforting to think my deceased cats will be there to greet me in my new "life" as a ghost.

This is a very different picture! Not the first thing when you start thinking about what to put in a ghostpiece. Very good composition, with the pole separating living and dead, imbalanced outline and a nice way to treat the difference of the worlds in colours and value. Strong that you let her turn away from the living at the reunion with those that went before.
A sad end for some, but a happy beginning too.

Oh youre really captured the mood! When I look at it, I fell both sorrow and happiness in the same time for this family loss but also reunion by the old loved ones

My eyes are filled with tears right now!
I couldn't agree more with UnrequitedDream's critique. This piece is exquisite, full of emotion, with a unique and captivating style, excellent use of colors and lightning, and such a care for details.
Both my grandfathers passed away in a hospital, and recently my sister's 12-year-old dog passed away hit by a car (immediate death). My grandfathers had many health problems (one of them for several years). It might sound cruel, but there's a time when you start wishing that they just "go"; even though it's sad for us who remain, at least it's a way to put an end to their suffering. Anyway, that's my opinion.
I take my hat to you.

Oh God this is beautiful. I teared up as soon as I saw it.
I didn't know my own beliefs until my gran died, but as I said to someone. "It's only goodbye for a while."
It's kind of funny too, when my granny fell ill it wasn't her dying I was upset about, but the fact she might die in a hospital.
But thank you. I'm outright crying, happy tears though. The sadness of goodbye is only balanced by the joy of reunion.

this is so beautiful!! your emotions came across perfectly, as long as u keep someone in ur heart u take them with you in life, even when they r gone...there will never b words to describe the pain of loosing someone but ur peace does a great job at showing the bright light at the end of all that pain. AMAZING JOB!!

Oh I have missed something. I remember this from facebook. It is one of the deepest works from you I really like that there is something positive in the sadness and the thought of reunion. Iยดm sure your grandparents are waiting for you somewhere and that they are proud of such a talented grandchild.

Aw this so inspiring my grandmother just passed over the weekend. At least she is with her other family and I'm really happy for her. She lived a life that I don't think anyone else could have imagined. Just wished she had became a blue's singer. I think she would have been good at that. Do I see a cat and a dog in the picture?

Dude I've been telling people all week not to be sad or sorry about it. She just died she never really left besides she wouldn't want people to fill sad. I think we should just celebrate the life she lived and laugh about the good old times not grieve about how shes not here. Anyway thanks for replying back and I thought I saw pets in there. lol
