now.. this is a quite personal piece for me.. It started with a topic from Sketchoholic..'Ghosts' (Daniela Strijleva interview's contest).I was going to create something comedic before but all of sudden memories of my granma came back to me. She passed away quite a while ago but I still remember how devastated i was that time. I tried to pour all my emotion into this one.. which resulted in a really depressing weekend. It was really exhausting both mentally and physically when I did this drawing - the sad music that I listened was making it worse too.
I'm glad to be able to finish it - it's quite a relieve in the end. I miss both my granpa and granma.. I wish that they're both in peace and happy somewhere .. sniff..

Really truly wonderful. My grandma passed away in February and my uncle passed a month ago. You did a great job with the sadness on the left, but the right is absolutely beautiful. I read the critique too, it really says it all. Anyway, this made me smile despite being sad. Thank you for drawing it and thank you for posting it.

I can really relate to this because I lost my grandma not long ago. I truly believe in the resurrection and in a way death isn't goodbye, it's just a 'See you later' sort of thing. In a way where the living bids 'Goodbye for now', Heaven says "Hello..." this is such a meaningful piece and I am so touched by it. Know that she is in my prayer. Amen.

This is lovely and reminded me of my grandma as well. My grandpa had died almost 18 years before, so when she died I was sad, but I figured she was finally with her guy again.

This made me think of my grandma, she's still young (73), but anyone's life can end in an instant.

I really like this. The facial expressions on the 'ghosts' is so great, and the look of surprise on Grandma's face...It brings a such a warm thought to what can be such a sad, dark, time. Thank you so much for sharing this picture.

I can't find the right words of my extreme admiration for both the amazing power of the image & my amazement that such a strong emotion was so flawlessly transferred from soul to paper. I lost my grandfather to a heart attack about a year and a half ago and still to this very day I cry whenever I think of him. This is a very lovely piece, it's been a while since I've seen drawings that have brought tears to my eyes.

This piece is extremely emotional. It's both sad and happy, and it made me cry, because I thought of my own grandma, who also died recently. This is what art should do. Make you feel something really strong.
