now.. this is a quite personal piece for me.. It started with a topic from Sketchoholic..'Ghosts' (Daniela Strijleva interview's contest).I was going to create something comedic before but all of sudden memories of my granma came back to me. She passed away quite a while ago but I still remember how devastated i was that time. I tried to pour all my emotion into this one.. which resulted in a really depressing weekend. It was really exhausting both mentally and physically when I did this drawing - the sad music that I listened was making it worse too.
I'm glad to be able to finish it - it's quite a relieve in the end. I miss both my granpa and granma.. I wish that they're both in peace and happy somewhere .. sniff..

My dad is in his final stages of his life right now this picture is what I am hoping he will be able to transition to is someone waiting for him on the other side. It is a beautiful drawing

I have jet to experience the losing some one ho I love dearly but I have some for losing meny loved pets its not easy.
This pick just contain so much emotion on it it make me all most cry so its very well done.

This is a beautiful and emotional piece. My beloved mother-in-law died a few days ago. Seeing this made me cry, but also gave me peace. I told my daughters that when a loved one dies the love still lives on. Your lovely picture certainly shows that.

I recently was at the side of an elder woman when she died surrounded by her loving family (I work in a home for assisted living for old people and death is not a rare guest there, sadly) and it was a moment of immense extremes. On the one side, the family who loses her beloved member, on the other side, the old lady who's finally rid of the pain of her cancer and can now rest in peace, hopefully surrounded by those who left before her.
When I just saw your picture, I was reminded of her (and the other ones I knew who have left already) and while I'm still very touched and have that tickling feeling in my eyes that we all know, I also feel a certain peace for it raises my hope that the lady is with her late husband and her parents now.

That's the most touching and bittersweet piece of art I've ever seen. I'm almost crying, really...
It's weird to say, considered that I'm just a stranger, but I know that feeling too: I've lost my older brother, last Christmas, and I still can't believe it... It's too painful to think about. But thinking about him as a robin gives less pain.
Sorry for this comment, but as I saw your drawing I needed to shout out my feelings.

As I've noticed other comments have said, the instant I clicked on this deviation I burst into tears. It was like a switch being flicked on. The warmth and 'reality' the ghosts provide is so moving, and the expression in the man (the recently deceased's husband?)'s face is painfully beautiful. I think this piece is going to stick with me for a long time.

This piece was done perfectly in your semi-realistic style. Sure, full realism would have shock factor and bring strong emotions, but that for me is too painful no matter how well done.
Your style puts a painful memory in a soft, gentle light. It is so painful missing people who are no longer here, but sometimes you want to be able to choke up a smile and think of those fond memories, and not the after affects.
