now.. this is a quite personal piece for me.. It started with a topic from Sketchoholic..'Ghosts' (Daniela Strijleva interview's contest).I was going to create something comedic before but all of sudden memories of my granma came back to me. She passed away quite a while ago but I still remember how devastated i was that time. I tried to pour all my emotion into this one.. which resulted in a really depressing weekend. It was really exhausting both mentally and physically when I did this drawing - the sad music that I listened was making it worse too.
I'm glad to be able to finish it - it's quite a relieve in the end. I miss both my granpa and granma.. I wish that they're both in peace and happy somewhere .. sniff..

This made me cry. Seriously. I'm having to stop while typing this cause I'm tearing up. It's so heartfelt. The weeping family, the lifeless body just out of view, the look on her face as she meats her family again, ready to lead her into the spirit world. It's so beautiful. I can't say how beautiful it is. It reminds me of my grandfather.

I lost my grandfather a little over a week ago. You can't place value on something like being able to be at their side in those final moments, to see them with no pain.

What an incredible piece. The emotions that are exhibited in the duality of this is profound and so right on target. This took me back to my father passing away unexpectedly in his sleep, and how it made those of us left behind feel. We hoped that he had a group of loved ones to meet him, or that he was in some wonderful place. We grieve when we are forced to let them go, and I don't think we really ever stop.

Well you took something very painful, and used the pain to make something that apparently has brought lots of people (including me) a lot of joy. This a very warm and comforting picture. It's what I imagine when loved ones pass. Thank you for this. Truly great. I mean that.

It's a very good drawing! On one hand, we've got a sad and emotional picture with the grieving family, and on the other hand, a beautiful and somewhat happy one with the grandma and the other people. I hope your grandparents rest in peace and you cheer up a bit!

This piece is beautiful. The title and the picture capture the way we feel when our loved ones die. We miss them and mourn them but we hope that they are someplace better with those they have missed for years. It is a very moving piece. Great job.

with your words you make me feel your sadness and lost...no one can mesure the lost of something or someone. I can only try to share this pain with you, for i have lost my grampa and granma also. I miss them too. But i tell you this, they are not 100% gone, im sure you'll have them in your heart forever.
Your art its perfect and special. captured everything in there...i must remember this.

This is exactly what I thought when I lost my grandfather. I thought he went to heaven to meet all his brothers again who had died many years before him. I believe he is happy again. Thanks for making my warm feelings about my grandfather come to live once more 8) <3

This is an incredible piece. Anyone who's ever lost a loved one can empathize with this picture. I love the happy relatives waiting ethereally to welcome her to the next world and the dog and cat show who you truly consider to be loved ones and part of your family and that they are capable of emotions as strong as any human's.
The light emanating from the flowers is a nice touch, too. Very well done and thought out. Congrats on the DD.
