In appreciation for all the support I've been given on DA. Unfortunately I don't think this will help that many people because i realize theres too much writing needed to cover this in depth. So if your more interested in my process then i should have at least accomplished something.I used a camel hair brush, but this really isn't important. You can use any brush that has pen pressure, and takes longer without pressure but still possible.

greatness... really like the tutorial. I happen to normally build up from black silhouettes and such, but I have somewhat tried this method in the past, and seeing yours results has me inspired to paint again 
by the way, in the picture you couldn't remember what you did or could tell the difference... I found after a second of looking that the only difference I could find between them was that you added darker vertical lines to the lips... just thought I'd add that in for whatever it's worth
