I tried that Skeleton method and it doesn't seem to be working for me.

You've actually got ''Dolicocephaly'' and ''Mesocephaly'' the wrong way around - Mesocephaly is the most common skull type, and dolichocephaly is very streamlined/long skull.

Thanks
Well, it doesn't only counts for realism. I never draw realism xD But even in cartoon characters the anatomy should be right C:

Miosita In reply to LostbunniesofWendy [2014-11-24 19:21:10 +0000 UTC]

Well, everything you read is a simple version of what I get in school I studied animal care and behaviour so yeah anatomy was a big subject c:
The info and refs I used comes from my course book + info from the teacher, wich is way more detailed and better than books.

Awesome! I'm studing illustrations, it would be nice to get some advise for the proffessors about this topic buy they get kinda lazy sometimes, or we concentrate a lot in huma body and drawing that we forgot that drawign a dog can be a lot difficult. But I found a book about it and I hope that if I practice al lot I'll be good at it!

Miosita In reply to LostbunniesofWendy [2014-11-26 12:37:52 +0000 UTC]

yeah but drawing classes don't give such a detailed info about anatomy, only how anatomy fits in drawing, that's all.
And sure with practice, everythings works!

This is really helpful to understand the basic outline of a dog's skeleton, which I know is crucial for drawing a dog accurately and realistically
Can't wait for part two!
