I have a fascination with necks, especially this protruding muscle shown. I upped the contrast to make it stand out more. This was my first ever self-photo when i started taking pictures about 6 mos. ago. I chose not to edit any flaws or do much else to the picture besides black and white and higher contrast. i like the lighting on this one, but i think if you used a hair light to describe a bit of form at the back of her head, instead of letting it fall to black, it would have helped hold the image toghetera bit better.
you might want to also consider a diffrent pose for your model, as of right now the pose she has isnt very dynamic for the composition

The model is me. I had the timer on, so I couldn't see what I was doing. Normally I just shoot pictures for fun and sometimes they turn out cool looking. I did this before I was really trying to make good photographs. I wasn't really interested in it as a hobby. It was just something to do when I was bored.
What other pose(s) would you suggest?

hmm I think I like this the best of your selfportraits... You caught a feeling here, not just your neck (wich i btw agree on, that muscle is something of the most beatuful on the human body). I'm not quite sure what I feel but I like it very much!
Really like that you are so clear and the rest is black, makes the message clearer and you see it with a deeper perspective
