ASSDLKJSAKDASKDJASS PLEASE FORGIVE MY CRAPTASTIC ENGLISH DDD:I DID IT. It took me three hours, maybe four, but it's here, for you who asked how the fuck I did these craptastic little guys. I'll probably make a tat tutorial some other time, since ~rcsi1 asked me to make one aaaages ago. It shouldn't take this long.
The doll itself would've taken me an hour TOPS, but gah... all the copying and the pasting... MY EYES.
Aaaaanyways. That's Matty, don't steal him please. Pretty please.

But I just create a new layer and do the peices on top of the base... Very simple minded.

instead of making a big rectangle of color and moving it around to reshade, you could use the replace color tool. click on the eraser , then right click the color you want, and left click the color you want to replace. then right click and hold and drag the eraser over the doll and wherever the color you left clicked is, will be replaced with the color you right clicked... i think i should make a tutorial myself XD

Hah, I found out about that like, three months ago xD That's what I do now, unless it's a large area of colour I'm changing. I'm just too lazy to make another tutorial.

You just go from the darkest to the lightest shade, watching the folds and all. It's a good idea to take a close look at nicely shaded dolls, to get a hint on how to do it properly. You could look at ~Bwanoi 's gallery or =TheHWord 's, just to name a couple. (:
