Haha I loove the title. It's so ironic xD

Alrighty, first thing's first: this is for an art trade with where the prompt was "Ratigan/Basil". Since these two are such enemies, I figured that their relationship would obviously be a hate/love one, thus I depicted it as so. It's a little confusing, but the two bubbles show what each of them is hiding behind their backs - in Ratigan's case, the bell that'll summon his beast of a cat, and in Basil's case, a gun. (Note - I actually referenced the gun from the beginning of the movie where he fires a bullet into the pillows in his sitting room, so he actually owns it, yup~)
The story behind this would prolly be something along the liens of enemies meeting for a final showdown without any help, just the both of them against each other. To throw him off his guard, Ratigan, starts coming onto Basil. They both hide their weapons behind their backs, thinking that they're going to pull a fast one on the other. And um, oh yeah, Basil's smiling because he doesn't want to show how flustered he is by Ratigan's odd behavior. lolz

Man. I'm not a fan of this pairing, but this was still a realleh fun pic to draw. 8D I've been meaning to do Great Mouse Detective fanart, but I just never got around to it. So yay, I finally got to draw them~ Also, this is one of my pics where I actually attempt a background - look, you can see Big Ben in the back! c: Ooh and that pink thing to the left on the sidewalk is a wad of gum <3 I love ittt.
