A fairy waits patiently for the gift of life that is growing within her as she draws close to the time of birth.
An experiment with Photoshop and my new Wacom Tablet (I love this thing). My first image completed using a tablet, done in about 4 ½ hours (not counting the under drawing that I first drew and scanned to paint on the computer. That took another 2-3 hours).

Oh wow! This is so beautiful...you've done such a great job! The look on her face is absolutely wonderous...so gentle and content, and expecting...as if she's content to wait because she knows, in the end, it will be worth it. I love her dress too.... Brava!

I grew up in Alpine
I lived over by the cemetery. One of my favorite pastimes was to go hiking over the hills with my friends. We always dared each other to sit in the grave marker that looked like a chair.

Holy cow! That is so cool! I live just barely into Alpine. I dont live anywhere near the cemetary. But I go by it every day on the bus to school. Now I'm gonna have to look for this grave marker that looks like chair! lol! I wished I could have seen it when you lived here, there are SO many people now...ugh...

This image is so serene and loving -- it's wonderful. Her hair is just amazing, and I love the wings. I think the ears are a really neat touch, and I love the different types of "fabric" you used in her dress. The expression on her face is just perfect. Lovely.

This is such a delightful image - the feeling that can be seen in the wsy she holds herslef and her baby, and the look in her eyes... It is a truly excellent illustration of how motherhood can make you feel - all the more potent for those who ahve children or are expecting, but equally touching for those who have never had such an experience.
I love the nighttime colours, and the luminosity in the way you paint them - the whole picture glows with such a love; it's truly beautiful.
