Description
The massiveΒ General Sherman Tree in Sequoia National Park, California. Said to be the largesttree in the world - based on total volume. You can only see the bottom third of it in this photo.
It's age has been estimated at 2,000 years, give or take a week or two.

Thanks for the compliment. This photo was actually cropped from this one [link] . I couldn't decide which one captured (if such a thing is possible with a simple point-and-shoot camera) the majestic size of this tree. You take wonderful photos.

It's very hard (at least for the average photographer) to get a shot of these mammoths from a perspective that gives it scale. These trees are really just mind-blowing in their immenseness. This could have been published in Look Magazine, (I mean it's that good.) Bravo to you!

Indeed it is. But it's much more impressive when you're actually standing in front of it. I've tried many times to try and capture it's size in a photograph; but have never
really succeeded .

Yes I imagine in real, you could make a vertically panorama into two or three photos

Yes, sequoias are quite a sight to see if large trees are of interest to you. Unfortunately the true giant sequoias can only found in the
the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada Mountains in California; a
bit far from you. Sorry
