Hey guys, this is a Character concept sheet I just finished for a fan-made Halo graphic novel called 'Ultimatum' by Isaac Semmelmann. I will be uploading more of the concept sheets I'm doing for this project as and when I complete them over the next month! So keep an eye out
Which is your favourite?
The description I was given to work with:
"The Forgotten Enforcer has no name but his actions speak for themselves. He is a very strong individual wielding a modified M247H Heavy Machine Gun. The Forgotten Enforcer Wears ODST gear but he modified the armor for his own puposes.'

You just took my favorite type of UNSC soldier and modified his already epic armor into something even more cool. You Sir, are my hero!
I really love the 1. one due to the hoodie, the bare arms and the lacking femoral armor but I got to say that the number 3. also looks pretty awesome with the subtle little extras, though it's not too far from the original ODST armor. I'd combine those two but I guess that's also because it then would resemble a bit to my ODST Dawn and I lover her personalized armor

Yeah, 1 is more of a survivor, 2 is the high tech one, and 3 is the close to original ODST, but with a few modifications

I always love good ODST art
I could imagine how 1 is waiting for days all hidden in the woods for someone to come by he can stab in the back without being seen. But I think all three look very good in their own way.
My favorite character Dawn drawn by you? Wow, that would be really cool! I'm no beggar but it you want to, feel free to draw my characters all you want. I trust your skills and I guess you certainly won't come up with any porn or humiliating art about them XD

I like the idea of the goggles, but since the T-shaped visor is near perfection to me, adding eyes looks bit weird, but it's a cool thing on it's own for sure.
I wanted to go with standard ODST armor from Halo3 ODST, since I honestly think that one looks best. Then I added a few details like the optics device on her helmet, and the camouflage net on her shoulders and the "belt spat" to blur up her silhouette in order to increase her abilities to hide (and hide her ass too since Halo armor tends to point out the female rear parts XD). That way it's still pure ODST armor instead of something new and not totally overdone like some character's equipment is.
Haha, I've never heard someone considering Dawn's face pretty due to her scars but the way you explained it she'd surely look good when drawn by you, even though it's a challenge
Oh it was just a little joke. I know you'd not come up with such porn but I already had people asking me for it. All I can say to that is ewwww! XD
But honestly, it makes me really happy to hear that there's people out there who like my character. Especially if that's coming from someone as talented as you are! So if you really want to, feel free to draw her. I'd love to see it!

Her little added features make it far more realistic
And i love the look of scars, they tell stories, like tattoos too

I really liked ODST armor in Halo3 and even more in ODST but then almost all designs for marine armor got worse or at least more mainstream and less iconic than they were in Halo3. ODST armor was still cool in Reach regarding the helmet and chest region but the lower you got, the worse it became. It's good they tried to go back to Halo3 with the ODST armor design in Halo4, but to me it looks way too bulky and like lego pieces put on a soldier. Not even mentioning the helmet... That one got really fucked up.
Well, I already went pretty crazy and off regulation with Dawn's hair and earrings, so I wanted to at least keep her armor moderate and solid black besides of the few features more helpful for her tasks. But I went pretty crazy with the crap painted on Steve's armor just for the fun of an ODST paying tribute to the marines from Aliens with their crazy armor full of tags and stuff
Oh so you served in the British Army? Since military duty in Switzerland is only mandatory for males, I never had military training, but I got some shooting skills from hunting, so I've got at least a basic Idea what hiding, waiting for a target and shooting is all about and I tried to let that knowledge go into my characters since they're of military nature instead of just adding stuff that looks good. Besides, that "skirt" thing the ARC-Troopers from Star Wars wear is called Kama or belt-spat, so I kinda went with that name since I don't know any English description for it.

Yeah, your decision to leave the armour ALMOST default was a good choice
No I never served in the british army, i was in the ccf (basically a military training force that means i can train in the EXACT same conditions as the real military, just spread over a long time

That would be good! I really liked the UNSC designs in Halo3 and I hope they'll return. Especially the ODST armor. Until that I'll continue drawing those armors I like
Exactly. I always try to stay close to the canon and do not dig too much into crazy fanon. Still I prefer to stay away from official characters and events, since you never know how they change in the future. That way they'll remain as realistic as possible and I can still let my own ideas in without causing too much conflicts with the canon. I'm not really a fan of crossovers that make no sense of furries and ponies running around in Halo for no reason.
Actually that sounds really amazing! I wish I'd have had a possibility to join such a training as a teenager. And being such a good shooter who was able to fly an aircraft alone, you got all reasons to be proud of yourself! I'm a bloody rookie compared to you

Same here. Being out in the nature and observing without being seen during the hunt is great. You always see something new every day. And as you said, the meat is delicious! There's no better meat in the world. Especially fresh red deer liver
Yeah, the topic of hunting was always there since I was born. As well as falconry. And I got no shame to let it flow into my Halo fandom when it comes to rebels and Dawn "hunting down" her enemies

Yeah hunting is a magical experience, unfortunately, most people see it as cruelty to animals and say things like "What if you miss and it is then in pain?" and im just like "I have never missed a shot to the heart, why would I miss my next?" lol

Well I'm fine if you make crossovers of similar games or at least if they're of a similar idea. Like Halo crossed with Aliens makes sense. So if I see such really stupid crossovers, ugh... Please spare my life...

True. I love nature and all kinds of animals, but often enough people treat me as if I'd hate them just because I'm a hunter. I mean, I got no problem with vegans/vegetarians who do not want to east animals, but assuming people who kill and eat animals have to be coldblooded monsters whilst their own way of living is the only right one, is quite close-minded. You can't tell me it's immoral to kill a wild animal relatively fast, whilst eating one that had been bred in captivity as a source of meat and you don't know if it actually had a good life is ok.
Well, you see, I also get a bit aggressive over that topic if people accuse me of being a monster for killing Bambi whilst they keep on eating stake from god knows where

Well I always say that humans are part of nature as well, so why shouldn't we be allowed to use nature's resources like animals, plants and other do too, as long as we do it carefully? Saying a hunter isn't allowed to go into the woods, kill an animal and eat it because it's "not natural" is like I'd forbid a vegan to go into the woods to get some berries or mushrooms because it's "not natural" and it steals away the animal's food. Respect for the environment and it's inhabitants is essential but that doesn't means you aren't allowed to touch anything and if you do, you're a respectless and disturbed asshole who murders animals for fun. People need to stop thinking that life is like Disneyland and get their grap at real life again. This extremist bullshit everywhere is getting on my nerves, especially if if comes from hypocrites that aren't a damn thing better.
