Description Everyone thinks the Carnage symbiote got killed by the Sentry, but I think he's just been hiding. And now I have proof!

Special thanks to Rachel for posing for my goofy idea [link]

I mostly based it on how the Carnage Symbiote was detached from Cletus and kept bouncing around to different hosts until it could reattach to him. And my ex girlfriend who modeled for this was and probably still is obsessed with him so that's why I drew it.

Hmm that's an interesting story but I was thinking of a scenario for the picture behind how this happened in a Spider-Man story.

The scenario I based it on happened in the actual Spider-Man books. I just threw my ex in among the hosts the symbiote had.

Everyone knows ya can't kill a symbitoe by ripping it in two... the big question is if Cletus Kasady is still alive

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to GRIDALIEN [2010-06-18 20:13:01 +0000 UTC]

I personally think CLetus is alive. Reading his history he has had two symbiotes. One Venom ate and the other Sentry killed. But if you notice, not once does Cletus show his face the entire issue and he has always been one to do that, especially when terrorizing people.

And when he's ripped in half in space, you only see symbiote, no internal organs, blood or flesh. So I think the Raft was just holding his symbiote and Cletus was probably seperated from it at the time and probably stored someplace else.

And according to Anti-Venom, anyone that bonds with a symbiote will always have traces of it in their bodies. Considering Cletus reformed his original one from his blood cells I think he could possibly regenerate another one if given enough time.

Even the new Marvel Handbook entry on Carnage says it is unknown if Cletus Cassidy was inside the symbiote when Sentry killed it. So no matter how you look at it they have a lot of ways to bring Cletus Cassidy back as Carnage.

I hope Kasady is alive or I'd be pissed... 'cuz as ya can see... I'm a huge Carnage fan. I mean I'm the top editor of Carnage on Comicvine.

MJMJR In reply to GRIDALIEN [2010-06-19 12:29:30 +0000 UTC]

I honestly think he has too big a fan following to stay dead even if he was killed, which I honestly think he wasn't.

It even says in his bio that the symbiotes that have been attached to him gain his insanity and personality. So it isn't that big a stretch to think the law simply had one of his batshit crazy symbiotes in the Raft for safe keeping and that once it finally killed everyone and escaped that it would find Cletus and re-bond with him again.

And yes, I can tell your a huge Carnage fan. One of my best friends is as well, as you can see from the picture

GRIDALIEN In reply to MJMJR [2010-06-19 20:11:10 +0000 UTC]

Yep, when people say carnage i dead I disagree. I mean I think he's making a come back. He was a DLC in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, then they made the Carnage Legendary Bust, now the Life sized Carnage head bust, and soon to come the Carnage Comiquette

MJMJR In reply to GRIDALIEN [2010-06-20 00:41:19 +0000 UTC]

Unless they show an actual corpse I never believe a comic character is dead. Even then I tend to not trust it as being permanent.

And yeah, like I said Carnage is so popular I doubt he will stay dead for long. It's only a matter of time before someone brings him back. I've gone through this sort of thing with Wonder Man as well. He dies but he never stays dead.

GRIDALIEN In reply to MJMJR [2010-06-20 00:43:08 +0000 UTC]

I hope Carnage stays with Kasady or I'll be pissed... I'm more of a Cletus Kasady fan than a Carnage fan, because it's the guy under the suit that makes the character.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to GRIDALIEN [2010-06-20 09:53:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I mean Cletus makes the character because he's literally the Marvel version of the Joker. Without him in the suit it's just kind of lame. Like it was fun seeing it posses Spider Man and Silver Surfer but without a real maniac like Cletus under the suit it's just kind of lame.

I feel the same way about Venom. I love Mac Gargan as the Scorpion but as Venom I feel he's a waste. They just try too hard to make him better than Eddie Brock was and really it's a losing battle.

The main thing that made Eddie cool as Venom was that he mind fucked Peter Parker every time they met. All Gargan does is scream and threaten to eat people.

GRIDALIEN In reply to MJMJR [2010-06-20 18:35:43 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, not to mention Gargan just... doesn't look the part. I mean the EYES! The horrible eyes inside the EYES!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to GRIDALIEN [2010-06-21 12:33:34 +0000 UTC]

Oh God I know, the revamp of the costume was horrible. The eye within eye thing just makes him look like a Spawn wanna-be mask wise.

I really don't like that Anti-Venom has the same thing going as well with his, but at least with the black surrounding them, the white eyes stand out and sort of look better with a black border. Gargan has white within white eyes, what's the fucking point of that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

GRIDALIEN In reply to MJMJR [2010-06-21 20:27:37 +0000 UTC]

Sometimes he has Red eyes within white eyes, which makes him look like a tool

MJMJR In reply to GRIDALIEN [2010-06-21 22:44:46 +0000 UTC]

Yeah I'm really not a fan of that look no matter what the color though. I mean I can deal with it better on Anti-Venom but I still don't really like it.

It's sort of like when some artists drew Wonder Man and some would give him regular eyes or black Kirby dots bouncing around inside them. It really looked bad

GRIDALIEN In reply to MJMJR [2010-06-21 23:30:26 +0000 UTC]

When will people learn to keep characters they way they were intended to look.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to GRIDALIEN [2010-06-21 23:58:11 +0000 UTC]

I don't know. I mean I've gone through my fair share with Wonder Man and some of his were fucking nightmares. I'm just glad they dropped his whole purple kirby dots energy look. It was cool when he was a ghost but when he came back to life it seemed kind of silly to have him enveloping himself in purple ions every time he needed to do something.

Sometimes revamps are good things with some characters but a lot like Venom simply just don't need it.

I think the worst revamps ever were the John Byrne ones from his Spider-Man Year One comic. Usually I love his work but he really fucked up most every spidey villain in it visually.

Ah okay I see. Nice work btw. I'm not really into Spawn. I have the first few issues from the original series and the original Violator mini series but I never really got into the story.

I used to collect Savage Dragon but I stopped after issue 100 because of budget reasons.

GRIDALIEN In reply to MJMJR [2010-06-22 20:37:16 +0000 UTC]

Really? I never got into Savage Dragon.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to GRIDALIEN [2010-06-22 22:27:34 +0000 UTC]

I don't know how it is now, but the series was awesome when I read it. Most of Erik Larsen's characters parody or pay homage to characters and people from throughout comics only a lot of times he makes their powers sort of perverted. Like there is a character based on Spider-Woman but the webbing comes out of her crotch

The series got really good when he had a feud going with Peter David who was writing the Incredible Hulk at the time. Because not only were they argueing with one another in the letters page of Savage Dragon but both kept taking shots at one another in the comics and making fun of each other's storylines

It's really kind of like an old style comic with a lot of adult humor mixed in.
