Love how his boots look real, a good touch right there. The rifle really is an interesting one with the buttons and D-pad on it as well. Gotta love the scars and wounds he has, great work!

I used real army boots as the basis for Lance because I wanted to have him sort of echo that scene from First Blood part 2 where Rambo laced up his boots and got prepped for the mission.Β
I wanted to make the rifle kind of a combo of the ones from Alien and other sci fi guns and at the same time make it an homage to the NES controller so it's got the D Pad the A & B buttons on it.

If you read the artist comments under the main piece linked to this you would find out that yes I used Rambo as a reference because the character is based on him in the game. The other is based on Arnold from Predator and all the enemies in the game are based on Aliens and other sci fi horror movies. Also both characters names are based on the names of actors from the film Aliens
