Description The Inhumanoids are a very small but diverse group of giant malicious primeval beings that have terrified the planet since prehistoric times.

Since the time of the dinosaurs the Inhumanoids have waged a war below the surface of the earth with the Mutores, another diverse race of beings that have worked together to protect the Earth and commune with nature. Eventually the Mutores were triumphant in their long war and managed to defeat and trap the Inhumanoids in the mantle of the Earth.

In modern times the Inhumanoids were once again freed through both accident and design and now they once again roam the Earth above and below it's crust seeking to enslave and destroy all those who oppose them.

Since then the Mutores have allied with a human team of scientists and explorers called Earth Corps. to defeat the Inhumanoids and save the planet from their evil once and for all.

D'Compose is a 30 foot tall undead humanoid that rules his own subterranean kingdom inside earth's rocky, cavernous mantle called Skelweb. A nocturnal supernatural creature, D'Compose's body is a rotten mass of flesh, exposed muscle, organs and bones. D'Compose can open his giant ribcage and use it to imprison victims and drag them down to his lair for transformation at Skelweb. These victims have served as D'Compose's loyal undead army for centuries.

D'Compose is able to create undead creatures through physical touch and hissing his name "D'Compose!" and can mystically mutate any animal he touches into a rotting mockery of their previous form, most times making them grow in size, strength and viciousness.

Many times the will of the person is subdued or twisted so that they become fanatically loyal to D'Compose and their personality will become completely violent and evil. Some beings have shown the strength of will to retain their personality despite the spell D'Compose has put them under though this seems to be a rarity among those mutated.

D'Compose has mutated Earth Corps Member Sandra Shore into an undead giant like himself in an attempt to have her as his mate. Despite her being cured of his touch twice, D'Compose is still infatuated with her.

The only known cure for those transformed by D'Compose is exposure to sunlight. Once exposed the creature will return to it's normal form and most humans who have been transformed just remember their experiences as a hazy nightmare they can't quite recall fully.

It's been speculated that many supernatural creatures of the night that fall into the area of Cryptozology were actually created by D'Compose to terrorize humanity throughout the centuries before his imprisonment and that some have remained active to this day still spreading terror in the name of their creator.

D'Compose's main weakness is also sun light though in his case it causes him incredible pain, sears his flesh, weakens him physically and blinds his eyes which are sensitive to bright light. He is also vulnerable to amber and more than once has been encased inside hardened amber by the Redlunds who have access to giant molten pits of the substance. Once trapped the amber keeps D'Compose immobile and lets in enough sunlight to keep him weakened and helpless.

Inhumanoids, D'Compose, Earth Corps. Skelweb, Mutores and Redlunds are all copyright Hasbro.

If you think that's bad, remember that Inhumanoids shares a universe with GI Joe, Jem, and the original Transformers. D'Composed COBRA troops or Misfits, anyone? *shudder*.

MJMJR In reply to Rhysling15 [2015-02-01 20:08:42 +0000 UTC]

I know, all the Marvel/Sunbow productions were the same universe. Each cartoon's main link was Hector Ramirez from 20 Questions. He pops up in each show just like the music from Cold Slither pops up, Old Snake (Cobra Commander) and Flint's daughter Merissa Fairborne in Transformers and in several episodes of GI Joe the transformers appear as toys, in games or on TV as well as music from the series.

Cobra already has Toxo-Zombie troops so I think D'Compose would have fit right in with them.

Here's something even scarier: D'Composed Transformers.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

MJMJR In reply to Rhysling15 [2015-02-03 02:32:00 +0000 UTC]

They actually have them in the comics. They're called Spark Eaters. They're essentially zombie transformers that rip the sparks (souls) from out of living transformers and devour them.Β

I've got them all. They aren't constructed very well and the neck joints are particularly fragile. Its one of those toy lines where they went completely minimal with most everything as far as articulation goes. You can find them all on eBay pretty cheap even mint in box.Β

If I'm going to troll eBay for old toys, it's going to be Captain Power, I'm afraid. Much more interesting than Inhumanoids.

I can't say as I blame you. I mean I was a hardcore fan of the show and the toys had some meaning to me since one of the last things my one grandfather got me was D'Compose and Slingshot from MASK.Β

If the 80's taught us anything, it's that it was a good time to be a kid.

one of the things that stood out to me was that one of the other mutores mentioned that skelweb was an actual town or village that D'Compose himself pulled down into the center of the Earth. That alone would make for a horrifying and at the same time exciting story in itself. The Inhumanoids storyline and universe is ripe with story material that needs to be further explored. Great work by the way, looks like something from out of an old SNES game.

I agree with you and I always liked that aspect of the character as well. I mean he is literally a walking horror that can snatch your life away in an instant and there is really no place that is safe from him as long as you’re on the ground or even in the water.

I always felt the Inhumanoids could have been something epic had the franchise been handled properly but it was one of those concepts that was mishandled at almost every turn. The cartoon was groundbreaking as far as horror themes go and if it wasn’t for parent’s groups complaining it was too graphic and violent I think it would have lasted a few seasons and maybe even got the animated movie treatment like Transformers or G.I. Joe did.

Unfortunately besides that the toy line suffered from really poor designs and low sales which caused it to be cancelled halfway through the development of the second toy assortment.

Also the comic series which Marvel produced was made a part of their STAR imprint which was supposed to be more kid friendly compared to regular comics so again complaints from parents and the cancellation of the toys and cartoon made sure it never made it past issue 4.

The background is actually a modified screenshot from the game Metal Slug if I recall right. It just had the ruined look I wanted so I textured it and did some editing and made it into Skelweb.

No problemo. Decompose sure was the most frightening of the monster trio of the show. He sure has left an impression on me with his grotesque appearance and his deep slithery voice. It's to my knowledge that he was voiced by Chris Latta, who also did the voices of Starscream and Cobra Commander.

Yep, he was voiced by Chris Latta. Everyone in the series did voices on GI Joe, Jem and Transformers.
