Warduke: YOU CAN RUN… YOU CAN HIDE… BUT YOU’LL NEVER LEAVE THIS DUNGEON ALIVE!

I’ve never liked RPG games like Dungeons and Dragons but I have always liked their character designs. I remember as a little kid flipping through a character handbook at a hobby shop and liking all the bizarre creatures and weird shit in there.

The one character that always stood out to me even in the old 80’s cartoon was The Warduke. He’s like half barbarian, half black knight and all bad ass.

I drew inspiration and details for the figure using only the original handbook illustration and the original action figure of the character.

I decided to make him bloody from a recent victory and add old scars and wounds to his exposed limbs as well as add battle damage to the metal parts especially the sword and shield.

I was originally going to have him walking through a decimated village or castle and stepping over a dead body of a knight he just eviscerated but then I thought it would be scarier if this guy was stalking through a dark, evil looking labyrinth tracking down his enemies and killing anyone and anything that gets in his way.

I threw in the decapitated ogre to showcase how deadly the Warduke can be with his blade and threw in some skull trophies as well as a long dead opponent laying on the steps.

I had a lot of fun drawing and detailing this guy and I hope you all enjoy the Warduke as much as I did drawing him.
