I don't know if I've said this in the past, but I get ideas for new pictures all the time; it's just that they rarely come to fruition because I can't find the motivation to sit down and draw them out. Well, that was definitely the case for this picture -- I came up with the idea for it months ago, and only now did I sit down to produce it.

The idea is pretty straightforward: an unorthodox solution to the world's energy shortage, which involves dangling a Sonic doll in front of Amy Rose and making her run after it on a treadmill, all the while using that energy to power an electric generator. (Though I can't remember the exact inspiration for this picture, I do note a similarity between this and a Family Guy gag where Peter convinces his son Chris to exercise by dangling a Twinkie out of his reach.)

I was gonna trace and color this as normal, but in the course of drawing it I got the idea to make the lines all white and put them against a dark blue background to give it a technical blueprint feel, which I think makes it funnier, because who would have thought to devise a mechanism for harnessing Amy's endless affection for Sonic?

In case you aren't that familiar with me, please don't misconstrue this picture. I'm a big fan of Amy and the Sonamy coupling. I'm just the kind of fan who can laugh at the things he supports. Consider this a caricature of Amy.

EDIT - Also, if the title strikes you as odd, I would have originally called it "Energy Shortage Solution 832" like the header block says on the drawing, but because I'm always looking to see if my work fits within the 100 Themes Challenge, I decided it fit under #64 (Multitasking) best.
