I make up the styles myself, but I often use authentic textile designs from China and Japan.

Another wonderfully executed drawing. I love the flow of this one, not to mention the detail you make come through the paper so effortlessly.

This is gorgeous! I love all the detail and her tattoo! I also like the texture of the background that you've added to all of these. It almost looks like the paper's wrinkled. Great job!

Yeah, the idea was "wrinkled tapestry" type thing. Thanks!

as always this looks incredible!
her pose, outfit and wepaons are stunning, and the shading is just wonderful
but the tiger's eye looks a bit odd..a bit too cartoony and askew, I think..

It's supposed to be. The backgrounds in this series are derived directly from medieval woodblock prints (which are somewhat cartoonish). Thanks for the

nice shading work, especially on the face! great subtility in the nose and mouth regions, very delicate the snow looks a little more like rain though... because snow is generally more pointastic than this. good composition

wow, beautiful. it's very simple and yet very detailed. the tiger is a great addition... and her face is beautiful. is "gold" the character used for "metal" in this context? i know it's the one used for Friday

Ahh... You lost me. What do you mean by "gold"?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
maria-jaujou In reply to MJWilliam [2006-11-05 18:43:46 +0000 UTC]
that character in the topright corner. usually it means "gold" or "money" (or it's the "fri" of "friday"). i was wondering if it meant "metal" in this context.

Oh! I thought "character" in a different context. Played too many games, I suppose! Yes, it means "kane", metal. Here's the full element chart: [link]

amazing work!!! wish we had like a artwork pic of the day here at DA so i can submit this ,it's beautiful i always run out of things to say when i view your work because you are so good-
and you do the best graphite backgrounds ever

Thanks! I used 2H for the backgrounds in this series. It's a bit weird for me to draw so light, but I'm satisfied with how it turned out.
P.S. DA does have its Daily Deviation, but I don't think they'll accept this - the boobies are covered!

Katerina-Art In reply to MJWilliam [2006-11-06 12:45:28 +0000 UTC]
it's true anything covered now at days doesnt get attention at DA it's really sad i hate all those nudes deviations-no offense to anyone .
The light background looks stunning and it makes the girl stand out even more. The 2h pencil is probably one of my favorite pencils to work with i start all my drawings with that and it's great to smooth out pencil strokes too

I don't really mind nudity. But when it's too much it stops being in good taste.
