Courage the Cowardly Dog is one of my all time favorite cartoons and for good reason. When I was growing up it was perhaps the most unique show on TV at the time. There really isn't anything else like it. With the entertaining characters, clever writing, a few good jokes per episode, and unique stories there is a lot to like about it. The most distinct thing about this show is how creepy it is though. There are a couple of cartoons that could be somewhat considered horror, but I don't think any other cartoon for kids will ever be as scary as this. There are so many creepy and bizarre moments that will stick with me for the rest of my life and I personally don't mind that at all. In a way the horror is what makes it such a challenging show especially for kids. Sure, it may give nightmares and might not be the most appropriate thing for them, but it opens up their minds and allows them to think differently. I love this show and will always have a special place in my heart for it. Also, I wonder if John R. Dilworth will ever have another cartoon.Related content

Yup. One of the best of the Cartoon Cartoons that I grew up with. I also have fond memories of ones like Grim and Evil (which I know later got split into two shows), Johnny Bravo, KND, Sheep in the Big City and a lot more.

The guy who created that show ended up working on KND too. His name is Mo Willems. Definitely check it out. It's great. Cartoon Network was amazing back then with their Cartoon Cartoon Fridays blocks and everything. Have you also seen Time Squad?

I've seen 2 or 3 episodes of Time Squad. Buck Tudrussel is hilarious. It is a really good show.
I'll have to try Sheep one of these days then.
