I'm not sure if I'm reading the problem right, but if a lot of them don't work you have to do the same thing for each of the ones that don't work

ah, yeah I'm afraid i don't know much about Apple products and there compatibility with MMD and PMXE :/
i do believe there is a program called MikuMikuMoving that's compatible with Apple computers that opens the same files as MikuMikuDance but as for being able to edit together models I'm not sure that there's a version of PMX that's compatible
