Description Another tutorial.

ABOUT RIGGING.

.......

Probably not THAT amazing. But hopefully it'll help in some way. ;A; I'll update it when I'm a bit better at it....so until then its probably best if you look at ~MMDFakewings18 's Rigging Chart/Guide because I really just suck at rigging percentages.

So yar. Enjoy.

I'll answer my messages sometime. I've been working on this ever since I posted my Bones Tutorial. So I want me time. I'm also uploading this quickly because its late and I have to come off soon >.<;; please enjoy the tutorial!

select the vertices you want to unweight, then click edit>Weight-related (W) > the weight initialization (J) the selected vertex

When mirroring hair bones, I followed the steps you said, but the vertices on the right rigged themselves to the left, so both pigtails on my model were rigged to one set of bones (on the left) did I do something wrong?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

VocaloidWings In reply to vocaloidX2583 [2013-08-23 21:34:41 +0000 UTC]

Yes you did. The view you were on also allows vertices from other parts like from the back. You are able to see those other vertices because you were on that view and you rigged those vertices on the pigtails.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

vocaloidX2583 In reply to VocaloidWings [2013-08-24 08:44:33 +0000 UTC]

Okay... So I separate the pigtails into different MAs, then do the mirror rigging technique...?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

VocaloidWings In reply to vocaloidX2583 [2013-08-24 10:30:23 +0000 UTC]

Try that. Try rigging the ponytails seperately from eachother with only those parts showing to prevent rigging something extra to the actual bone. If it doesn't work I don't know what's wrong. (Lol i'm still a noob at rigging)Β Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NyaLinaa In reply to KoopaCutie [2013-03-27 13:24:31 +0000 UTC]

Rigging is permiting the verticles (or "polygons" if you prefer) to move with the bones.

How can you add an upper body bone without messing up the rest of the rigging? oAo

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

NyaLinaa In reply to LuxSomnium [2013-03-27 13:22:54 +0000 UTC]

you have to modify the parent/child numbers, and also re-rig only the upper body part.

I thought percentages was like to erase the weight paint... Wow, nice tut thanks. I'll definitely be referencing ~MMDFakewings18 's tutorial as well. thanks a lot!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

mmdyesbutterfly In reply to FicticiousAnimation [2012-09-21 13:03:13 +0000 UTC]

0% erases the weight area, while the others...kinda tell the part to bend a certain way. So if rigged at 20% the vertices rigged with that colour will only move a certain amount vs. 60, 80 or 100% which will move more.
Yeah x'D ~MMDFakewings18 's Guide kinda shows why the percentages are important~ and no problem at all x3

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FicticiousAnimation In reply to mmdyesbutterfly [2012-09-22 23:05:01 +0000 UTC]

Yah I think I get it. Like, 100% is a really sharp bend while 20% or something would be a really soft bend. Tanks!!!

mmdyesbutterfly In reply to FicticiousAnimation [2012-09-24 18:15:53 +0000 UTC]
