Description
The definition of an ascian, is a person or a thing which does not cast a shadow. Metaphorically casting no shadow of a weapon for its user, it is a fitting name for such a weapon. For not only is it compact and easy to conceal, but its rigid construction of polymers and other high durability materials, make it invisible to metal detectors. The DTS-ASCIAN uses a closed rotary bolt in a bullpup configuration, and operates on 4.73x33mm caseless ammunition, allowing for a high capacity in its side feeding p-90 esq. magazine. The weapon features a standard top mounted Picatinny rail, easily removable flip sights, single and full-auto fire modes, and is capable of rapid field stripping for the soldier on the move. The flash hider can also be removed for the optional installation of a silencer for covert operations.
The weapon can be outfitted for a variety of uses, but is mainly intended for covert operations, and as a PDW for pilots, vehicle crews, and other personel where a full sized weapon would be impractical. It is maximum effective range is 170 meters, and fires at rate of 1020 rounds per minute.

Looks like the Noisy Cricket from MIB!
Wow, invisible to metal detectors, eh? Scary...I wouldn't wanna get on a plane if someone smuggled one of these aboard!

Just curious. Does the whole magazine is dettachable; or as I though, the firin' system and magazine are integrated as one dettachable piece?

The magazine is detachable, having a detachable firings system would probably be inconvenient, expensive, and unreliable. Interesting concept tho, if someone could get it to work.

If you used superposed loads where ammunition and propellant are stacked and stuffed into individual barrels, like in the Metal Storm concept, then it could work. The firing system would be in the gun and would be electric.Β
Still might be inconvenient and expensive, but it would cut down some of the cost.Β

Yeah you got me thinkin'. I though at firat the barrel could be fit to use several type of round (HG, SMG, AR) if the magazine itself had the firin' system incorporated.
But you're right, it might be expensive.

Unless it was made cheaply, in which case, it would probably be unreliable. Unless it was like a gauss or lazer weapon of some sorts.

As far as I know the fed system of such weapons are fixed or detachable bateries. The munition size-caliber-firepower is defined by somewhat a system which graduate the charge. But in the gauss system, it's used a solid round which is charged electromagnetically. Turnin' the Gaus into a breach-loader gun.

Why do I think the SMG from Halo when I saw the magazine system, well nevermind that, the weapon looks very good, not only that,a believable idea for the future of warfare.

With the kinds of things Kriss Metalstorm and Magpul are doing, yes, the future is now.
