So, a while back I promised a picture... then I forgot... my bad. Anyways, Misty wanted a villain but doesn't know what said villain looks like so I drew a few sketches to help with the creative process. I actually don't think these are very creative, kinda tropey actually but maybe you'll get some ideas from them Mist, let me know what you think.The butterfly mask at the top is based on the owl butterfly, since Mist wanted a transforming mimic villain I thought it might be a nice theme to follow, maybe a pair of big yellow eyes for a cutie mark.

Very good sketches, MohawkRex. I like the one with the mane and short tail like Soarin's, but use the eyebrow from the pony below him. Add a bit more of a menacing look to him when he smiles evily. Hmm, in fact, you could use some of the images as samples of who he can turn himself into. Don't forget, he can change himself male to female or even species on Equestria.
Could have the mask as something that magically merged with him and changed him. Could have been an archaeologist and became corrupted. I think that the yellow eyes as a cutie mark could work, as if it knew he would become a real mimic.

The Soarin look'a'like is my fave too, I like goatees, and with the mannish eyebrows of the pony below he'll definitely be menacing. You seem to have a habit of picking good colour schemes, from what I saw of your gallery, lighter, pastel colours are what work best for ponies, so you pick. A set of colours that compliment the cutie mark would be a good idea, if it's yellow maybe some dark shades of a warm pallet.

Grey and yellow do go very well together, after i've drawn the pic and printed a copy to colour i'll start with him so as to test out what works.
