Well all things coincidered that was a pretty damn good start to season three. The animation was better then ever (seriously, thats done on flash!) the characterization was some of the best in the whole show, every pony did what they do best, the songs were cute with 'Ballad of the crystal ponies' being so damn catchy and the background music was epic level.Only problem with most bronies, including myself, being that the new villian King Sombra had NO screen time what so ever, let alone characterization. Thats a shame as MLP has a decent set of villians, Nightmare Moon was fairly simple overall but got better as Luna got more development, Discord owned every scene he was in and Chrysalis kept you guessing right up to the end. Still, given the amount of forshadowing in this ep via Celestia (whats in the book?) hopefully we'll see a return from Sombra with abit more back story to help flesh him out. It shouldn't be to hard, he's basically Sauron/Arthas!
Anyways, the pic was fun. I wanted to go for a old school tyrant look so changed him up abit, hope you all get a kick out of it. Now back to requests.

Me-"I would much rather rule by your side than to be a stupid slave! I have conquered many ponies, but I won't even try to stop you. You should at least know why, because I already said I wanted to rule by your side."
King Sombra-" And how do I know this isn't some trick for you just to have my powers"
Me-"by this! *I fiercely kiss him on the lips as I then back off and back up a little scared*

To be fair, Sombra was more of a Force of Nature villain than a narrative villain. He was an opposing force, something you couldn't really stop completely, and the fact that all the crystal ponies were so terrified of him that they repressed their memories of him really shows just how much of a threat he was.

As based on the Hobbit movie, yes, Sombra can be cold like Arthas. But when he can transform into a dark mist, that will be the best job as The Necromancer, or more commonly referred as Sauron.

Sombra works excellent as a villain when he's off screen:
Being remembered by the Crystal ponies (or NOT being remembered)
His sole return causing unspoken fear and horror.
A door that makes you see your worse fear.
Traps, doom devices, dark crystals capturing you.
A gigantic black fog of doom destroying the barrier of an Alicorn Princess and starting to consume the empire.
Yes, being an ominous presence Sombra works perfect as a villain, when he's on screen: That's his weak point.

Sombra's armor remind me of Arthas Menethil, and his banners look like Stannis Baratheon's. Such a combination is implausible and amazing in equal amounts.

Your wrong. Lunas Character devolopment doesnt count on nightmare moon, So KingSombra had more character devolopment, Atleast he wasnt trying to do something that will only effect half of the planetnas chara

Well what I mean is Nightmare Moon became more interesting as we got to know Luna, how and why she got to that point exactly. All we know about Sombra is that he was a dick, the sisters slapped him silly and now he likes to say crystal alot.
I definatly don't think that only effecting a small number of characters makes a villian less awesome/developed, quite the opposite in fact, antagonists with a personal connection to the story tend to be easier to write/develope because part of their story has already being told... and how exactly is causing eternal night only effecting half the planet... *thinks about it* oh yeah, good point, haha!

Also we know more of Sombra than that, We know that he had a grudge againts the crystal pony and that he killed the former Crystal princess, Also we know from his traps that he had a bigger brain than what most bronies claim him to have

I know, what im saying is interesting is finding out how Luna got into that situation. Did she slowly change over time or was she corrupted in some way. The fairy tale that opens ep 1 is kinda vague.

This isn't stated, I don't think MLP would go that dark. For all we know he may have been the previous crystal pony leader.

I also agree, as I said in the text box below the pic, I like the character. He has an old school feel which gives him a ton of potential, the writers just need to really go for it.
