Description I decided to draw tree versions of gorgonopisan. The first above is reptilian-like, the second with naked leathery skin and the third one below with fur. I wonder, what do you think? Which one is more likely?

Very Awesome work !

3rd one below is the most accurate one; Definetly more better than 1st one above

Recently, some news were circulated that the presence of therapsid's fur now is definitively proven. So I go for bottom variant.

Yes, indeed! Looking forward in seeing a definitive proof which may come soon!

I would think the middle or bottom one. Middle one would be you be my best guess for heat exchange in the increasing temperatures of the late Permian age.
By the way, great job. I love how you did the hair on the bottom one. Very cool. <3

Definitely the one with the fur, on it! I believe that all Gorgonopsids (as well as all Therocephalians) had fur, similar to modern-day mammals, as well as having a more dog-like nose! And I also believe that the Gorgonopsids might possibly have had the ability to rear up, on their hind legs, similar to what modern bears do, today. Yep, those are my theories, on Gorgonopsid classification! Cheers, everybody! XD! ! !

I don't know much about Therapsid skin to say anything positive or negative, but I do know that rats, and some other mammals have scales on their tales (see [link] ) and some do say that hair could have easily evolved from scales.

Sorry, I meant to write 'tails'. I am an idiot

Second, and possibly Third. There is no chance Gorgonopsians were scaled, we have Therapsid skin impressions that show they had leathery, glandular skin like mammals (but no evidence of hair yet).

There have been remnants of hair found in the coprolites of therapsids carnivores, so there's that. Plus, wiith the whole Karoo Ice Age thing, I wouldn't doubt that many therapsids were hairy.

I think the second is the more likely

The most likely one would probably be the mix of 2nd and 3d but my knowledge of gorgonopsians is very shallow!

I think you are quite right. Somehow it seems unlikely to be covered with scales as synapsids origin from early amniotes and share some amphibian characteristics. Scales are rather very derived. On the other skin of hand fully terrestrial animal must be not only water resistant but it must also protect animal from sun and other harmful environmental effects.

So, did they have fur maybe...?

Maybe not fur, like the one modern mammals have, but possibly something similar. I'm sure that these are pretty good guesses but everything we know can change with only one new fossil unearthed.
