Description

Well, this one took a long time to finished. Not because it actually takes that long to draw, but because i got burnt out while drawing this, and only continued drawing it 4 years later. I started drawing this picture in 2018, stopped, and then picked it back up in 2022

I wanted to practice drawing much more detailed backgrounds (that's not just a detailed texture like the Yukari drawing), so I picked Hakugyokurou as my subject. I mean, lots of trees, flowers, and petals will definitely help me practice how to not clutter a picture, so why not? But, after a while, I eventually got bored drawing so much details. Then, when it's finally at the shading phase, I had a bright idea of trying out a new shading technique, which lead to me giving up on drawing in 2018. For this project, I experimented with Medibang's 8-bit layers and the pencil brush, and let's just say that I made it a lot more complicated than it needs to be, hehe >w<"

When I picked up drawing again, I learned now to pace myself when drawing so I don't get burn out as easily. Like for the hydrangea bushes, I cheated and decided to make a color texture instead of drawing more hydrangeas haha. That being said, I really liked how "the cheat" looked at the end, so all's well ends well.

Also, I only found out after finishing the picture that hydrangeas bloom in the summer. Oops ^^' I'm blaming Đà Lạt for making me associating hydrangeas with cold weather!
