Description
Commission for someone off DA.The buyer wanted me to put a spin on their concept of Dr. Robotnik from SatAM, wearing bulky, heavy battle armor, and to really show off that Robotnik's size and strength.
On top of their basic concept, I added a Sonic bumper as a shoulder guard, some "hazard" tape to hearken back to the pod he rode in the old games, and overall just tweaked things to fit my style.
The sketching was fun, but the ink was grueling. I had a lot of fun with the design, so I can't say I regret it.

This robotnik kinda gives me the same vibe drago bludvist from how to train your dragon 2 does. This guy is a tactical and mechanical genius, sure, bit also a hard man.

I am really struck by this! Robbotnik has almost got a sort of Kingpin vibe going here (the Marvel comics villain I mean) - heaven help you if he manages to get his gauntlets on you, he looks ready to rip the viewer limb from limb! That's assuming you make it past all the cutting edge traps, drones, Badnicks and gadgets... Needless to say, I am seriously impressed!

he is defiantly looking like he's going to grab sonic and shatter his back with his cyborg arm. very nice use of some game elements to incorporate into the satam design
