But the look on his face was worth well more than that brilliant, ruby-red gem we pinched. Well, I pinched it...so I guess it was my fault when his doppelganger attacked us from behind, doing what he could to get it back for his master."We took care of him together. His speed, my skill. It wasn't without a bit of scolding after the fact, but I played the embarrassment card, and before he could even take another look in my direction, I slipped the chaos emerald to his hand. I didn't want it. What I wanted came when he glanced over...and I stole something much sweeter, and more fleeting, before escaping into the dark. I swear, his face was redder than that stone...and I will never forget that night."

Because these are fictional characters, and the emotional ambiguity of them lends itself to a diverse assortment of social potential which Sega has no interest in pursuing, so fans can draw whomever they want WITH whomever they want, because dissenting opinions hold no water.

Okay, but it doesn't make any sense to me. Sonic has never shown any interest in Rouge in any official Sonic media, and the most interest Rouge has ever shown towards Sonic was in that one Generations cutscene. Rouge has shown interest in Shadow and Knuckles on more than one occasion.Β

What's your point? Amy shows Sonic attention but he doesn't reciprocate those feelings. It's less about what Sega chooses to show, and more about understanding the characters and their compatibility. That's what fan pairings are predicated on.

Rouge is easily one of the toughest fighters in the games/comics/show.
Also, Sonic has shown virtually no interest in ANY girls outside of the Archie comics, so I'm not sure where you're getting your information from. If you're going solely off a gut-feeling, then you're doing the exact same thing fan-shippers do... and that kind of hypocrisy is a waste of my time.
