So there has been alot of fuss over this photo looking very similar to the cover of the Twilight book. I'd like to take this time out to state that the similarities between the two happen to be completely unintentional & very unfortunate. I did not realize how alike the two were til after I posted it on another site some months ago. So now that you know that I am aware of how similar the two look you can all stop bringing it up please.
The inspiration did not come from Twilight at all, in fact I am not even remotely close to being a fan of stalkerish sparkly vegetarian vampires. I got the idea to do this last year after a friend sent me a link to Gnarls Barkley's video for "Who's Gonna Save My Soul". I had intended to originally do several photographs using hearts but this was the only one I ever got around to doing.
By the way, for all those wondering: Its a pig's heart.

it was originally killed to be food anyways, braised pigs heart is a popular dish in some parts. they run pretty cheap most bigs hearts running like 4 dollars each.

This is a beautiful image. So full of heart [no pun intended. 
The blood stain on the hands is really really nice, too. Adds colour to the whole image.
Is that a real heart? You can get them from the butchers.

Such a very powerful image, I just wish people would stop mentioning "That Book" because of the cover, its amazing what a simple image can convey. Congrats on the DD and I give you this mallet to bash anyone who thinks this is an image that was based after the books cover/the book itself. *hands it over*

Whenever I hold raw meat in my hands I think about the animal that use to be alive around it. I can only imagine that holding a heart would be that much stronger of that same feeling.

Well, to be honest, pale skin, something red in their hands, in that pose, with a black background, yes. I can see why people would see the Twilight cover.
I'm not bashing the artist, just the sarcastic comment. It's true, it looks a lot like it. Doesn't mean the artist got it from that, but if that's what people see in it, you can't really blame them.
