So there has been alot of fuss over this photo looking very similar to the cover of the Twilight book. I'd like to take this time out to state that the similarities between the two happen to be completely unintentional & very unfortunate. I did not realize how alike the two were til after I posted it on another site some months ago. So now that you know that I am aware of how similar the two look you can all stop bringing it up please.
The inspiration did not come from Twilight at all, in fact I am not even remotely close to being a fan of stalkerish sparkly vegetarian vampires. I got the idea to do this last year after a friend sent me a link to Gnarls Barkley's video for "Who's Gonna Save My Soul". I had intended to originally do several photographs using hearts but this was the only one I ever got around to doing.
By the way, for all those wondering: Its a pig's heart.

A friend of mine told me braised pig heart is big in China, so I went to a butcher in Chinatown & purchased one. It was two bucks, I was tempted to buy another one just for the fuck of it.

I'm sorry, but for anyone who says this piece reminds them of Twilight. That book series looks pitiful and boring compared to this piece. It's a bit shocking to see, really. Especially with the author's comments. Twilight was nothing original and quite boring.

original? i think the person who wrote it was trying to make Vampires something NEW like no one has ever herd of..well that's just my point of view Because that's what i do make something like no one has ever seen before..I'm sorry if I'm sounding rude..i just wanted to tell you how i felt...

Actually, the author of Twilight is of a religion in which they tend to take "scary" things and make them "cute and innconnect". I just wish she didn't choose vampires as a "target".

yeah i guess but vampires aren't even real. MEANING no one has ever seen nor meat them before so they would not know how they act/ are/ feel/ look or anything so you can't really say it's not original.

Personaly, when I first saw this picture my drain of thought was: heart... heart doner... beating heart cadavars... transplant...organs... the giver! Nothing about this reminded me of Twilight because it struck me as how lucky we are to know that if we need a new heart, kidneys, whatever that some one will gladly give something like that away. I think that if something could be called the greatest gift it would be what the author called this peice: giving. This is a truley amazing pice and people shouldn't look at it as, "oh, it reminds me of twilight." When people look at this they should realize that 1)some people aren't as lucky as they are and 2)it's about giving a person a gift that is irreplaceable. If ryou guys want to watch a movie about this i suggest you watch the movie 7 Pounds.

The fact that people are relating this art piece to Twilight really has nothing to do with how "Twilight was nothing original and quite boring." I'm pretty sure that most everyone who said anything about the book only did because it's the exact pose and colors that the cover had.
Personally I don't like Twilight, but everyone in America has seen the cover for it so often that it has become etched into their minds for all eternity. Its got nothing to do with the book itself.
