Photo Study. Took me... about 30min? An exercise in focus through contrast and edges. The amount of hue variation on closer inspection was also surprising. A lot of fun!Related content

Nice, a little clean up on the bottom areas might improve it a bit but Im not sure.

Interesting point. The idea of this piece was to use soft-edge brushes for blurred areas so I don't have to rely on filters to get a sense of depth of field. The bottom area was blurred in the reference. But I do agree that it looks off, maybe I got the angles wrong, making it appear on the wrong plane of depth.

Thank you! I think thats because i included a lot of hue shifts. Reality often has subtle shifts in color that we dont catch, and we can exaggarate those to create a more realistic effect.

really cool how this is all like, smudgy basic shapes but you can still tell what it is right away from looking at it O: thats neat and i think it shows really good knowledge about shapes and colors !

Awesome! Thatβs what i was aiming for. I tried to play with edges too. You will notice that only the parts in the very front have hard edges, while everything else recedes into soft and lost edges. I was trying to emulate a sense of depth blur with that.
