One of my favourite moments in the film. I'll keep the spoilers for myself. xDReference:

This movie made me feel SO MANY strange and wonderful emotions. Emotions that I still fear to express. Yet yearn to share.

Haven't seen Blade Runner 2049 yet, but it's definitely on my watch list. And yep! Guillermo and the whole SoW team deserve all those Oscars. ;u;

Its propably the best movie of 2017 I think. Though I havent seen all of the most acclaimed. Shape of Water is an amazing movie, but I feel like its only at the top for me for very subjective reasons, whereas Blade Runner 2049 is an actual modern classic honestly. So yeah, definitely recommended.

Did you overpaint your reference or did u paint it by watching at it? (Hope, you know what I mean xD)

I painted from reference, but i didnt overpaint, no. The point of a colour study is trying to get the values as accurately as possible without picking them directly from the reference, if that makes sense, lol

No such thing as a dumb question. And I actually did that when I started out with Photoshop sooooo... It can be helpful to see what values actually look like without context, so it has its use!

Uhh... i dont think the two would blend well... xP now, a were-gillman, that‘s another story. THAT would be awesome.

so a kind of werefish, reminds me of innsmouth locals and their gradual decay into something... less human, and more wereblobfish

Sort of! Though I like to imagine were-stories in the classic "outcast" fashion. Meaning there'd be only one character affected by it, and he/she needs to learn to live with it. (though propably he since "her" would allude to a mermaid story which... no)

Definitely a two fins up piece of art! It looks so much like the movie. And I really loved the ending. Which explained why the heroine loved to take baths all the time and why she couldn’t speak. XD

Thanks! And i loved the ending too. From a storytelling point of view, shape of water is the most by-the-book i have seen in quite some time, and thats refreshing as other writers seem to have forgotten how to do that entirely. Every scene in the movie is either a setup, a reinforcement or a payoff. And every setup has a payoff at some point. No plot thread goes nowhere, everything is properly established, and there is no scene thats just buffer. It should be shown at film school for how to do it right.
