On the Top of a Wooden Fence Sat
One, Two, Three Little Cats
One was Named Sam,
One was Named Pam,
And the Third Went By the Name Matt

One Little Kitty was Sad
One Little Kitty was Glad
And Because of the Theme
Of This Dumb Little Scheme,
One Little Kitty was Mad

Sam was Sad, Not Having Any Fun
Pam was Glad, Enjoying the Sun
Between the Two of Them There
Matt Thought it Only Fair
That He Be Mad at Everyone

The Fence on Which They Sat Belonged to a Man
Who Owned a Big Dog Called a Doberman
Butch was His Name
And He Liked to Play Games
With His 'Victims' (Those Who Crossed on His Land)

Now Sam was Scared He Would Fall
And Pam Paid Butch No Mind at All
But Matt, He was Mean
And, Thinking Himself Keen,
Sat Up on the Fence Nice and Tall

And Said to the Dog,
"You Worthless Old Cog!
You Don't Scare Me
Up High in These Trees!
You're Like a Bump on a Log."

Now Up on That Fence Sat
Only Two Little Cats
For When Butch Took Matt's Threat
And Knocked Him From the Fence
That's What Made the Cat Go 'Splat!'
