yeah you already know its Neph, catching some fish or smth, idk lol
kinda like how it turned out
I havent been doing much personal art lately, it felt pretty good to be drawing Neph like this again.

Aaa I love this so much??? The water is extremely realistic, you can tell that you blocked it in then slightly blurred the edges instead of using airbrush, which would have given it a less realistic look. You can tell you worked hard on the markings, how slightly curving the general squiggle / stripe to give her muscles depth and perspective. you could have given her wing more movement, though. You cannot clearly tell which way the wing is moving, up or down. I usually try to use blur or slightly bend the edges of the wing to imitate air pressure, like if the wing was moving down the tips would slightly bend up, as air pressure would do so on a flexible wing. Of course, you only have a part of the wing showing, so you wouldn't be able to do that. I would have done just a few little blurred wing tips to make it look like her wing is moving, but it's okay. I absolutely love the shading style, how right next to the darker shades there's light. Adding lighting where shading would be is a problem for everyone, I love the creativity of the solution. I do think you could work on how the wing attaches to the forearm. I have a basic rule- the wing can't bend beyond where the forearm bends. It looks like the bone is being stretched to where I probably could be with enough force, but would be a little uncomfortable for the dragon, especially considering nephthys looks relaxed and natural. If you go to my gallery you can see I try to avoid drawing things at an angle like this. I understand it's extremely hard not to, and I feel the majority of people often have this problem. Her back right foot seems slightly off, it appears to be bending outwards from her body with the fact that her bottom foot is showing rather then the top. I think it might just be your style, but it doesn't look as amazing as the rest of your work. Just my opinion. I do love how you alternate how thick the neck is, giving it a cartoony but natural look. All in all, I love this.

ok so onto the critique part....
it looks great and its a really well-done piece! however, the angle of it is a little wonky but it doesn't distract from the overall piece. i love the colors and style of lighting/shading that you chose and it all seemed to come together really well! it has a fun and playful feel to it and i really like the sort of 'aesthetic' that it has. overall, i really love this and i would be surprised if other people didn't :0

I love the way the colors blend together in a sort of harmony. The way you used the blur tools really adds to the piece.
I enjoy how much detail theire is in the water and the fish and the birds, and of course, in Nep! You can tell there was effort and time put in to this.
The anatomy looks pretty nice you me! Everything seems to be quite balanced and correct.
The focus of this peice is rather clear and obvious which is a good thing!
With all the detail in this already, I'd suggest adding a little something more to show the different between the purple spots and her normal markings, right now it just looks like a normal spot marking instead of any kind of scale type to me. The color is very nice and blends witht he design though! To fix the issue with marking and scale difference is mabe adding a tiny bit more detail to the spots themselves. You could add a bit of slight shading to the spots, or you could add some color difference between the spots, maybe some glowing and some not. Now if it's a marking and not any sort of glow-scale, then you need to make that obvious too, by possibly adding little dots of the same color around them like some sort of freckling like the rest of the splotches on the arms and legs.
Nep's design is certainly unique and the colors are more than pleasing to look at, but the markings kind of clash together sadly. One looks totally different than the other, and it could be blended together more, by possibly adding a sort of transition from had stripes to borderline stripes/splotches and dots. To blend the two together, you might want to reduce the amount of stripes, or reduce the length that is farthest from her hind legs/lower torso. Length variation usually looks like and rather adds to the piece. If you want it to be mainly strip though, then add more stripes but still reduce the length just a wee bit, compared to if you reduced the length if the splotches were the main marking. Again, if the stripes are the main markings, make sure to make them look like they are over the splotches, like they are now. They way they are layered now, look really nice.
As for the wing swirls, they are really beautiful and a creative choice of design to add to your character, I really like it! My only issue, is that there are one too many swirls in that small portion of the visible wing. Taking away one will make the wing seems less busy, but keep the beauty and maybe match the head find swirls some more.

Vision: This touches up on the blur effects and the way you did that, the missing star is because of the small faults in the design, easy fix though!! Also I would have given one half a star if you added a few clouds in, not too many of course as it might crowd the pcture and make it look too busy, only about three at the most, since right now the sky looks totally empty and without chaarcter without the lovely birds. I also really like the way the water looks and they way the fish are swimming and birds are flying, it all adds a sense of movement and motion to a still, 2D picture.
Originality: The character is original as hell, however, the jumping out of water or soaring over water thing has been done a few times, I love how you zoomed yours in some more, and kept the main focus on Nep.
Technique: I really love your style and the way you color and add detail to everything. That, I found very impressive. The way you shaded the stuff in too to add shape is one of the reasons why I like your technique, the other reason is the way you like and use black lining to connect things together in a smooth way. The only reason why you are missing half a star, is because of the way you did the very background, the birds you added is truly a delightful idea, and adds character and to the piece.
Impact: The overall impact is really, really nice! The colors, the pose, the detail, the design, everything! I considered giving you a 4.5 but I didn't because the impact is just outstanding in this and I couldn't find a reason why I would miss giving you half a star for something amazing you have created.
As long as I have watched you, you have improved a l o t. Like- a l o t. Take this as a compliment as you improve without anyone obviously begging you to do so, you improve on your own.

Idk what the right normal thing to put here is, or if the stars seem too low or too high like this is the first critique I've posted but THIS. IS. AWESOME.
The shading and detail are stunning, the motion blur looks great, and it's a perfect mix of realism and cartoonhood, to me. I honestly don't know if I have any suggestions...
I guess maybe some of the patterns on the skin (particularly noticeable on the arms and wings) look 2d where the skin is not? Like the spots should kind of bend in where the skin bends in, on the edge of the arms and wings a bit more, and it would look more natural that way.
Otherwise, it looks amazing! (The concept didn't seem that important, because that wasn't the point, so I didn't give it a full five stars on the more concept-related ones, but it was GOOD.)

For this, i used airbrushes (medium soft and hard airbrushes) for the waves and her markings.
And i used a brush inking pen for her stripes and wings!

I really like what you did with her face, it really brings the attention to her eyes, plus gradients are wonderful. The stripes add complexity to the design and look wonderful, though as an owner of a tiger striped character myself, I will warn you that it's a lot of work to keep those accurate.
Also, interesting attire on her paws, are they for looks or do they have a specific purpose?

I`d say the neck and torso are a little short and the right front paw looks twisted too far towards us. From this angle we should be able to see a little inside that paw, I believe.Β
And the colours are too good. Seriously, I love her design so much! Proportions are a pain in the ass though, so just keep practising!
