Description
On this particular night, there was a storm system moving in from over the horizon with lightning already visible from a distance, hence why the sky beyond the tree tops looked black with no stars. It was still clear overhead with a full moon shining down.
The house can be seen in the immediate background to the left. The closer building is the shed. By now, the family is in the bedroom, bedded down and snuggled up for the night. When the storm hits in another hour or so, the meerkats will cuddled up together under the blankets, asleep in the bedroom.
A coal oil lamp is kept lit and turned down low in the living room (no electrical grid where they live).
